Making their first appearance in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, these enemies share the 'fos' suffix as many other enemies. The Chilfos are the warriors that appear to be made of ice, found in the Snowpeak Ruins, the fifth dungeon, and in the Cave of Ordeals. They carry large spear-like icecles that they will use as two-handed weapons against Link in hand-to-hand combat, and they will throw them as javelins to attack Link from a distance. They can be very aggitating in large numbers, but they can be taken out one-hit with a Bomb Arrow. You can conserve your arrows and bombs while still one-hitting them once you obtain the Ball and Chain.

A useful strategy for Link to defeat Chilfos is to keep a distance away from it, so it attempts to impale Link by throwing an ice javelin at him. Once it breaks against Link's shield, the Chilfos will take a few moments to reconstruct a new icecle, at which point Link will be able to successfully slice at the Chilfos with his sword.
