HTLOZ II is the latest successor to Hyrule: The Land of Zelda, following Gamer Crossfire and The Fallout Shelter. It was founded in March 2005 by F3, Tempest, and IceSage. The web site is still technically considered a Zelda fan site, but has shifted focus to the community forums.
Contrasting with the design of the first HTLOZ, HTLOZ II features a non-flash design. The site is unique in that many of its members have been around for a considerable amount of time at HTLOZ or its successors (Many ten or more years), and the community is one of the most tight-knit in existence.
Present Day
While HTLOZ II still maintains its content archives, in early 2008 the site dropped its homepage in favor of the forums.
In late 2008, IceSage was replaced with Captain Cornflake, of VGRC and ZeldaInformer. In March 2009, the site was moved to VGRC's server, signifying the growing alliance between the two communities.

Awards
In 2007, HTLOZ II was the first recipient of Exploding Deku Nut's Golden Light Arrow award[1]. This award is given to the site with the most lively and fun-loving community.
