The Fake Master Swords are located in the Lost Woods in the north region of the map in A Link to the Past. These are decoys placed in the Lost Woods to prevent Link from finding the real sword. They resemble swords with the blade stuck in the ground. There are several, and they can each be lifted, but not used as a normal sword; rather, they are thrown at enemies much like when throwing a pot.
Although considered useless in the original release of A Link to the Past, in the Game Boy Advance re-release, Fake Master Swords are an item available in the Riddle Quest. However, they disappear forever if they are picked up and thrown, so destroying them all would make it impossible to complete the Riddle Quest.
