The Flare Dancer is a miniboss that appears twice in the Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time. Link sustains damage if he is hit directly by the Flare Dancer, or if he treads on the fire trail that is left as the miniboss circles the room.

The first time you face the Flare Dancer, place bombs in its path to hit it. After this, the miniboss' core will be exposed and will run around the room. Hit it with your sword as many times as you can. After about ten seconds, it will jump into the furnace in the center of the room and will recombine with its body, changing color in the process. After sixteen normal hits or eight jump attacks (half this amount if you are dealing damage with the more powerful Biggoron's Sword or Giant's Knife), the Flare Dancer will be defeated and its core will explode, damaging Link if he is within the explosion's radius.

When you face the Flare Dancer for the second time, it is easier to attack it with the Megaton Hammer as it circles the room instead of placing bombs in its path.
