Pamela's Father[1][2] is character from Majora's Mask. He is a scientist who researches supernatural phenomena like fairies and ghosts.[3] He lives with his daughter Pamela in the Music Box House of Ikana Canyon.

Biography

Pamela and her father moved from Clock Town to Ikana Canyon in order for her father to research the ghosts and spirits that haunt the Ikana Valley.[4] They settled in a house at the top of the canyon, which he later turned into the Music Box House. While studying Gibdos, he discovered a song entitled "Farewell to Gibdos", which drives away the mummified creatures in an instant.[5] He programs the music box house to play this melody, effectively keeping Gibdos away from their house.

One day, while continuing his research of Gibdos, he tried to go into the nearby well.[6] He was cursed, which gradually caused him to start deteriorating into a Gibdo. The frightened Pamela shoves him in the closet of the basement, keeping him away from the Gibdos that have begun roaming the outside of her house believing that her father is one of them.[7] This causes Pamela to keep her door locked at all times and refuses to open the door to anyone who tries to go in, for she thinks that they are Gibdos who are trying to take her father away.[8]

Link eventually drives away the mummified creatures by restoring the flow of the river, which causes Pamela to unlock the door to her house. He tricks Pamela into leaving her home while he sneaks in and goes into the basement. There, Pamela's father lunges out from the closet from which he was being kept in and starts approaching the young hero at a slow pace. Link cleanses his soul by playing the Song of Healing on his ocarina, lifting his curse. Pamela then comes in and embraces her father, with him not knowing of the events that have happened.[9] When Link later talks to Pamela, she reveals that her father is unaware that it was Link who lifted his curse.[10]

Pamela's father has an extensive knowledge about Gibdos and Garo Robes, so checking the pictures of said creatures in his home will cause him to explain the background of the monsters; as such, there is no other researcher who can match his wisdom about ghosts and other similar beings.[11] If Link speaks to him while wearing one of the morph masks, his "Ghost Radar" will react fiercely, and he will ask the young hero to stay so that he can research him.[12]
