After school I went to a close by store that also rented games to watch game play while I was waiting to be picked up. In this place is where I learned about how amazing the Zelda game was even though I never learned this game name.

After I got my first console I managed to play many games that I borrowed from my rich neighbors. I did play Zelda, but I didn't understand it because I didn't know any English. Plus I had so many games that I didn't know what cartridge game I was playing. So in that cartridge mixture, I played Willow, which for some reason I though it was the Zelda from after school. In this game there was a centaur that always got me killed with just one shot. So I hated the whole RPG looking games.

In 1993 I was able to play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. Here is where I started to get into the game, and as I progressed,  I noticed the same features described by that game that always got such awesome complements back in 1989. I just got hooked. This was also the first and only Zelda game that I have had help. I played for hours, and discovered so many secrets. For me this was a challenge since I didn't know any English still, and there were no guides other than the help from the Nintendo Magazine, which I couldn't afford. I ended up being the help for the kids of my neighbor.

At the quarter end of 1998 I moved to Canada. Here I got I a really crappy job, and with the little money I made, I bought my first NES. With it, I bought one of the golden cartridges, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link". It was also the first time I ate pretzels, so I always relate them. Later I bought The Legend of Zelda, always expecting the annoying centaur to appear, but instead I got a better experience. Well, since then, I have been able to buy my own games.

It is a must for me to play the game and finish it 100%. I do buy guides after, and it is mostly because of the artwork. I have never used cheat codes, or game genies. I believe a good Zelda experience is to play the games the way they where meant to be played.

Time line. I guess one of the most entertaining things about Zelda, is trying to figure our the time line. I have been playing most games to come with a time line that makes the most sense. So far for my findings I have called one of the split time lines, as the Cel Time line. Now I have to play the games in this order, and fix any discrepancies.

UPDATED: Well, whit the new time line release, this is useless. I'll keep it just for kicks. I might do something similar with the original time line, that should had never be.

Zelda Experience

Art from Nina Matsumoto (SpaceCoyote) I got at a comic con

My first Zelda experience was around 1990 when the Simpsons and Mario where on stickers and very famous. I did not play the game because I didn't own a console at the time. After school, I went to a close by store that rented games. I watched game play while I was waiting to be picked up. Here is where I learned about how amazing the Zelda game was even though I never learned the game's name. After I got my first console, I managed to play many games that I borrowed from my rich neighbors. I did play Zelda, but I didn't understand it because I didn't know any English. Plus I had so many games that I didn't know what cartridge game I was playing. So in that cartridge mixture, I played Willow, which for some reason I though it was the Zelda game I saw after school. In Willow was a centaur that always got me killed with just one shot. So I hated the whole RPG looking games. In 1993 I was able to play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. Here is where I started to get into Zelda. As I progressed, I noticed the same features described by that game that always got such awesome complements back in 1990. I just got hooked!!!! This was also the first and only Zelda game that I have had help. I played for hours, and discovered so many secrets. For me this was a challenge since I didn't know any English at the time, and there were no guides other than the help from the Club Nintendo Magazine, which I couldn't afford. At the end I became the help for the kids of my neighbor. By 1995 I saw the first images for Zelda 64. This was the 3D breakthrough time. This is the first time I got exited about a Zelda release game, but development took too long so I eventually forgot about it. At the quarter end of 1998 I moved to Canada.
