But that doesn’t do me much justice. I go far beyond the realm of science. In fact, I’m a lover of all fine arts. I particularly enjoy to write, paint, draw and sing. I was an AP Studio Art student senior year in high school, and followed a fine arts curriculum for all four of my high school years. It was my goal to combine engineering and art, something I felt I began to do with my 2008 AP Art portfolio.

I write novels. One every year, specifically, during the month of November, for National Novel Writing Month. My previous novels are, in or that they were written, entitled Secured, Faceless, and Spawn. With each novel I wrote just a little more - Secured was 54,000 words, Faceless 83,000, and Spawn 107,000. I am currently editing these novels in the hopes that one day I can become a published author. However, I still consider my writing a hobby, and publishing a reward for doing this hobby well.

I am an avid singer. I was the Tenor section leader of my high school’s award winning A Cappela Choir, under the direction of the incredible Barbara Retzko. The experience I had in Ridge High School’s choral system was unforgettable and undoubtedly life-changing, and I will be in contact with Mrs. Retzko (”Retz”) for, I can only hope, the rest of my life. I was also a member of the CJMEA Region Chorus. Choir made my social life in high school, and I believe it will be doing the same at Lehigh U. I will be joining as many of Lehigh’s audition choirs. I’ll update this page when I inevitably get into all of them. Dr. Sametz is the choir director at Lehigh, and having met him and watched him conduct I can see I’m in for a real treat!

But my true focus is, as my major dictates, engineering. Only within the last two years did I truly unearth my passion for scientific research and problem solving. I’m fascinated by physics and everything that governs how the world functions, and my mind works in numbers. That said, I brought an unseen perspective into the world of art - I continually stunned my peers, who were all prospective music majors, design majors, and English majors. I felt that this extra talent of mine gave me an edge; it is this edge that I seek to define and sharpen. I’m in my element when I’m building and inventing, using my hands to create something beneficial to the world. My particular interest rests in the realm of particle physics - I’m jealous of the men and women over at CERN, who uncover the mysteries of the universe while I study what they already know.

Jason's Note: Yeah, I think I'll rewrite this whole page. It's horribly out of date.
I am also the webmaster and owner of the popular Legend of Zelda fansite Zelda Universe, which is, I feel, the greatest online community in existence. For any avid Zelda fan - particularly me - it’s a haven and I’ve made countless friends running this incredible website and community for the last three years. If you don’t recognize me from Zelda Universe, which is pretty much my face on the internet, you may know me as the user “GoldenChaos” who wrote what many consider to be the most complete and easy to follow walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap available.

GoldenChaos, real name Jason David Rappaport, joined Zelda Universe on February 2, 2004, and assumed full ownership of Zelda Universe on August 11, 2007. He is also the founder of Zelda Wiki.org and co-founder (along with Yami) of the original Zelda Universe Wiki. In his early internet-days, he could be considered somewhat of a newb, though people have stood on both sides. In his first few months, he did a good amount of rent-a-modding, in which he actually earned the title "Second SearanoX" from a few members. Eventually, he grew out of his newbish, rent-a-moddish stage and became an active, contributing member of the community. He was eventually hired as webmaster of Zelda Universe, and after one year stepped down as a webmaster of Zelda Universe and detached himself from the all the community except select members. A year and a half later, he returned to the Zelda Universe community, and furthermore purchased the site from its owner at the time.
I also webmaster and own the internet’s largest wiki of Zelda information, Zelda Wiki.org. ZW.org is a collaborative effort between myself and several other Zelda fansite webmasters, and has grown into the largest encyclopedia of Zelda information online.

I do believe that’s the gist of me - at least, my interests and my pre-collegiate life. Please browse around my blog; you may find some stuff you like. Otherwise, feel free to just read my updates as they come. I use this blog as an online journal. While I don’t often post the more personal items, I do try to post often and hope that people find meaning in the things I say. But then again, I suppose the ultimate goal is just to have fun! Both me and you, Reader Person.

Beginnings
~ Jason Rappaport.
GC's newbie welcoming thread can be found here.

In the thread, he mostly ranted on about an older forum he used to go to, Chaostic Warez Forums, which has absolutely nothing to do with the "Chaos" in his name. He continued on in this manner for quite a while until SearanoX pwned him in "The post the owned GoldenChaos." This post consisted of stripping down the rules of Chaostic Forums one by one to what they actually meant, thus proving they were more strict then Zelda Universe's rules had been. GC could do nothing but surrender and follow the rules after this post.

He went on later to start a Rap Battle Tournament in the Battle Arena with the help of a user named Link Messiah (now Mess), the contestants including himself, Mess, Kishin, Kazan, andi, Mirren, Big Bro Davidia, and SearanoX. The thread for the tournament can be found here.

He moved on to become quite a "postwhore", gaining his 1000 posts in 55 days. He waited out the other 45 days before he could receive his custom rank, as well as waited to become an adopter. He then adopted his first-ever adoptee, lost lee.

Graphic Arts
After a while he took an interest into the various things that the ZU signature makers were dishing out. He felt that his own graphics were far below mediocre, and many for the ones currently being made by Shetani (Lioness), Yami, Sear, Radek, etc. were amazing.

His first attempt at a graphic was a small tutorial the user Yami has placed on the forums. It involved making a few gradients, changing some contrast, and performing a twirl. It turned out nicely, and he soon grew into the graphic artist people know on ZU today. Far from the best, but not half bad.

Today, he practices with his Wacom tablet in hopes of perfecting the art (or at least becoming alright at it). He has colored multiple works with the tablet, but is still getting used to the surface and the way the tablet works. His works thus far are vastly unimpressive, but with more practice he'll get tons better, he is told.

Drawing
You can view GC's old doodles and drawings thread here. You can view GC's new Art Things thread here. You can see GC's blog, where he will post most of his future art, here.

He previously took a Drawing class during the first semester of his sophomore year of high school, and Painting in the second semester of the year. Now in his Junior year, he participates in the Honors Art Major course, which consists of various projects to perfect drawing and painting skills. Such projects include conte drawings of expressive hands, portraits, perspective projects, etc.

Writing
Jason was once, very long ago, in the production of a fan fiction, though it has grew a bit beyond fan fiction. He intended to edit it fully, change the characters and make it into an original story, but never did. The fiction passed 60 pages in Microsoft Word, 12 point font at normal spacing. However, due to it being written during such a large time span, a good amount of the story made little sense from forgetfulness while writing. This story was been canceled, and his newer projects took root, which can be found below.

A newer project, a completely original story entitled The Catcher, can be found and read here. He intended once again to make it a full-fledged novel of sorts, getting to the ending at least. His writing was been compared to authors such as Michael Crichton and Tom Clancy. This project has since been discontinued.

He has written a full-length novel titled Secured, which can be read from this thread. The novel speaks about a sky diver named Peter Mora, who, after jumping from 14,000 feet during his first major competition, lands to find out that he had died during the drop. What's going on? His mission is to find out just what, and get back to where he came from.

His second full-length novel, entitled Faceless, is seen in his eyes as a large improvement from Secured. It portrays a dystopian future world in which the ability to "shapeshift" is a household technology. Because of this, humanity is no longer limited to its human form - and neither is the definition of "human." With the technology an integral part of society, it becomes hard to tell who is who, and who was who. This story can be read in the NaNoWriMo section of his blog, here.

On to of this, he used to teach in the Zelda Universe Battle Arena, showing students better writing techniques, as well as grammar and spelling.

He has also written a 96-page complete walkthrough for The Minish Cap', a Game Boy Advance Zelda game. This walkthrough is now featured on GameFAQs, CheatCodeCentral, Zelda Domain, AOL, Supercheats, Gamespot, Neoseeker, and of course good old Zelda Universe itself.

Personality
He loves helping people with their own problems and is always willing to cheer someone up when their down. He considers himself an optimist, though his own parents laugh at the fact and say he more of a pessimist. However, he most always has a smile on his face (and on his internet) and is almost always willing to help someone who needs it with a cheerful attitude. He also values trust from his friends, and toward his friends from himself a great deal.

So, what now?
GC has completed projects for Zelda Universe, such as the Kinstone Fusion Guide (A full list of every Kinstone fusion in the game The Minish Cap'.) which is now finished, a heart piece guide for The Minish Cap, and even this Wiki. He was, for a time, the co-webmaster of Zelda Universe. He has since retired from the job, but maintains his position on the wiki and the ZU Chat Room.

He is extremely proud of the work he does and has done and always loves to help out as much as he can. If you need to toss some random (or not random) job onto him, go ahead and do it!

The Zelda Wiki Project
Jason is also the founder of Zelda Wiki.org, the wiki you are currently viewing and hopefully contributing to. He claims to not own the wiki more than anyone else who wants it, however maintains control over the databases and the FTP, so that he can perform routine maintenance. He has high hopes for the Wiki project and can't wait to see what it will turn into in the near and far future.

You’ve stumbled right into the lair of Jason Rappaport. Jason Rappaport, who is me (aka I, myself), is many things. I am many things. I am a freshman student at Lehigh University, undertaking a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Business as part of the University’s Integrated Engineering and Business Honors Program.
