I do believe that’s the gist of me - at least, my interests and my pre-collegiate life. Please browse around my blog; you may find some stuff you like. Otherwise, feel free to just read my updates as they come. I use this blog as an online journal. While I don’t often post the more personal items, I do try to post often and hope that people find meaning in the things I say. But then again, I suppose the ultimate goal is just to have fun! Both me and you, Reader Person.

You’ve stumbled right into the lair of Jason Rappaport. Jason Rappaport, who is me (aka I, myself), is many things. I am many things. I am a freshman student at Lehigh University, undertaking a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Business as part of the University’s Integrated Engineering and Business Honors Program.

But that doesn’t do me much justice. I go far beyond the realm of science. In fact, I’m a lover of all fine arts. I particularly enjoy to write, paint, draw and sing. I was an AP Studio Art student senior year in high school, and followed a fine arts curriculum for all four of my high school years. It was my goal to combine engineering and art, something I felt I began to do with my 2008 AP Art portfolio.

I write novels. One every year, specifically, during the month of November, for National Novel Writing Month. My previous novels are, in or that they were written, entitled Secured, Faceless, and Spawn. With each novel I wrote just a little more - Secured was 54,000 words, Faceless 83,000, and Spawn 107,000. I am currently editing these novels in the hopes that one day I can become a published author. However, I still consider my writing a hobby, and publishing a reward for doing this hobby well.

I am an avid singer. I was the Tenor section leader of my high school’s award winning A Cappela Choir, under the direction of the incredible Barbara Retzko. The experience I had in Ridge High School’s choral system was unforgettable and undoubtedly life-changing, and I will be in contact with Mrs. Retzko (”Retz”) for, I can only hope, the rest of my life. I was also a member of the CJMEA Region Chorus. Choir made my social life in high school, and I believe it will be doing the same at Lehigh U. I will be joining as many of Lehigh’s audition choirs. I’ll update this page when I inevitably get into all of them. Dr. Sametz is the choir director at Lehigh, and having met him and watched him conduct I can see I’m in for a real treat!

But my true focus is, as my major dictates, engineering. Only within the last two years did I truly unearth my passion for scientific research and problem solving. I’m fascinated by physics and everything that governs how the world functions, and my mind works in numbers. That said, I brought an unseen perspective into the world of art - I continually stunned my peers, who were all prospective music majors, design majors, and English majors. I felt that this extra talent of mine gave me an edge; it is this edge that I seek to define and sharpen. I’m in my element when I’m building and inventing, using my hands to create something beneficial to the world. My particular interest rests in the realm of particle physics - I’m jealous of the men and women over at CERN, who uncover the mysteries of the universe while I study what they already know.

I am also the webmaster and owner of the popular Legend of Zelda fansite Zelda Universe, which is, I feel, the greatest online community in existence. For any avid Zelda fan - particularly me - it’s a haven and I’ve made countless friends running this incredible website and community for the last three years. If you don’t recognize me from Zelda Universe, which is pretty much my face on the internet, you may know me as the user “GoldenChaos” who wrote what many consider to be the most complete and easy to follow walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap available.

I also webmaster and own the internet’s largest wiki of Zelda information, Zelda Wiki.org. ZW.org is a collaborative effort between myself and several other Zelda fansite webmasters, and has grown into the largest encyclopedia of Zelda information online.

I do believe that’s the gist of me - at least, my interests and my pre-collegiate life.
