WikiExclusive Question
Hey, I know I'm fairly new, but I saw you had a place for Wiki Exclusives. I'm in AP high school classes and am use to writing papers. I'm also active at posting on Zelda Universe, so I get some of the opinions of the Zelda fans. If there is anything you'd ever like me to write, just tell me.(Altidefan1 22:09, 25 October 2010 (EDT))
:I love the enthusiasm, by the way! ;) The WikiExclusive is a personally-driven article, where the inspiration comes from within. I've written a few myself (their links are in the WikiExclusives Portal above), if you want to see examples of formatting, style, and length, as have a few other editors on this site. I'd love for you to write one if you're interested, but I don't have any ideas of the top of my head - think of some! 23:04, 25 October 2010 (EDT)

PH Treasure Charts
Do you know whether or not the charts in Phantom Hourglass are numbered? I'm interested on filling the empty parts of the Treasure Chart page, but I want to order them by island if they're out of numerical order (I've collected 27 so far, but the Quest screen doesn't order them at all). -- 21:00, 13 November 2010 (EST)
:They aren't. :( I had played a little of PH recently and encountered the same thing, especially when I looked back at the page you're talking about for help. I think by island would be best, at this point, yea. 21:06, 13 November 2010 (EST)
::OK! -- 21:12, 13 November 2010 (EST)
::Ugh, I spoke too soon!! D= D= D= The CoolTable template was superseded by the older, more convoluted table. I'll still edit the article, but only after working on a copy of the section through my NotePad program; I can't easily rearrange the chart locations otherewise. -- 21:21, 13 November 2010 (EST)
Bot vs Manual?
Hi, I have another question. I noticed that the language template has two versions: A manual version writen like the coding for a table or infobox; the other is a simpler, horizontal coding added by a bot (StoneWatcher, maybe?). Considering that the bot version is more compact and simpler, shouldn't we supersede the manual version? Or can both stay? Thanks in advance =). -- 00:48, 20 November 2010 (EST)
:Good question. You're right, the StoneWatcher was programmed a month or two ago to input in the horizontal coding. The only difference is in the direction of the coding, everything else from the functionality to the appearance of the Language Box in the article looks the same between versions. It's really a matter of personal preference, but because they both work the same, exact way, there isn't really a need to replace one for the other - that would only result in gray hairs and bursting neck veins! I'd say use the one that takes less time to put in. And thanks, by the way, for helping out so much with the language variations! Dany and I wondered if we would be the only ones ever interested in working with those things :) 00:55, 20 November 2010 (EST)
::You're welcome. Now, if only Jeangabin was active now .... he would lend a hand for the French names. -- 01:00, 20 November 2010 (EST)
WikiExclusive
Sorry for bothering you again, but I have one more question. I'm interested to write a WikiExclusive article (perhaps two, although I hate to be too ambitious), but what do I need to know before preparing one (for example, what are the basic rules?) Thanks in advance. =) -- 16:41, 10 December 2010 (EST)
:You never bother me! Don't worry :) The staff has written an informal/formal guideline for writing and submitting WikiExclusives in the Help Guide here. And please write as many as you want, there is no cap! We'd love to have your work on the wiki in a unique form, to go along with the stellar mainspace contributions you provide on the daily. 22:35, 10 December 2010 (EST)
I just finished one as well....But I wrote it before I read the rules, and it's on a subpage of my userpage. Could you read it and judge it and delete the link afterwards so vandals can't find it? Thanks.

I made some tweaks to it, such as lengthening the conclusion, making the questions and answers into an introduction and thesis, and fixing the test-effect. I hope you like it now, but if there's anything wrong, feel free to tell me and I will fix it.

Hey Cip. It has been a while, hope you've had a good Christmas and upcoming new year. Just dropping you a message to find out what's happening with your two drafted ZI articles on astronomy and the goddesses that have been sitting around for over 8 months. If you want to release them at ZI, let me know and we can schedule them in, or if you want them back to release as Wiki exclusives, or whatever you want done with them. Otherwise I'll just move them to the archives, as there's no use in having them just sitting around unpublished. :) 16:21, 28 December 2010 (EST)
:Hmm, good point, I almost totally forgot about them. I wonder if some other editor would like to finish them (if someone expresses interest, then by all means)? Otherwise, ya might as well move them to the archives (I have copies of them on my personal computer). I'd like to continue writing them, but the inspiration just isn't there anymore! Thanks, dude. And yea, the holidays were great, thanks! I trust yours went well? :) 18:19, 28 December 2010 (EST)
::Yep, I had a great Christmas. Okay, no problem - what I'll do is move them into the archives, so that if one day the inspiration to finish them returns, they're still available. They just won't be sitting around in our boards waiting for release. :) 18:59, 28 December 2010 (EST)

::Hey Purlo, the WikiExclusive is posted on a private staff forum, so I will not be able to give you any link - you won't be able to get to the article even if you arrived at the page! :( Either way, I can give you what the staff thinks so far, here it is:
:::1)The writing itself is a bit informal. The use of "ToT" and "OoT", as well as a few typos and misspellings count against this article. In school, you would not be able to get away with abbreviating the Temple of Time as ToT as often as you do, and the same rule applies here. Also, the informality presented in with parentheses should be removed as well. Remember this is a persuasive essay, more or less, not a conversation!
:::2)The quality of the writing is a bit unclear in parts. For example, when talking about a "submerged section" of the Temple of Time, it becomes a bit confusing as to what you are actually referring to/talking about. Elaborate more and be a bit more concise/focused in your argument.
::Other than that, the rest of the comments praised the presentation and development of the theory. You're close, there are mainly minor fixes that need to be made before this can be published under ZW standards. You are allowed to revise and submit the article as much as you like. :) 17:59, 17 January 2011 (EST)
I hope everything is in tip-top shape now, resubmit it please.

:::I'm afraid the comments will be similar. After another read through, there are still many "ToT", "OoT", and "TP" abbreviations, and there are still a few informal parentheses remarks, i.e. "(I believe)". It's a great piece, don't get me wrong, I'm just afraid that without fully changing these things, the commentary will be identical to your first submission. 23:26, 27 January 2011 (EST)

New User - Khalid
Hey. I'm a new user to Zelda Wiki, but I've been using it for a long while. I am a big Zelda fan and I think I know a lot about the secrets and mysteries of many Zelda games. I decided to start a new blog at www.zeldafacts.blogspot.com so that users can follow and subscribe to me. We share knowledge of Zelda and give theories and opinions. I'd really appreciate if you inform everybody about my blog, because I want to meet new fans. I would also really like it if you follow my blog. Thanks a lot!
:Sounds great to me! However, because Zelda Wiki is a wiki and not an ad service, we cannot advertise your blog on the site. Zelda fansites, such as ZeldaInformer and Zelda Eternity, and multimedia sites, such as World Zelda Music Radio, have the opportunity to affiliate with the wiki, due to their large community following, extensive content, and wiki participation, however, because your site is a personal blog, this avenue is unavailable as well. :( Sorry about that! To echo Mandi, the best place for this kind of promotion is in the community's forums! A great place to start is the "The Masterminds" toolbar at the left beneath the wiki's logo; all of these sites have highly active forums where I'm sure you'll be able to garner a following for your blog!  I wish you best of luck with the site, and I hope you continue to use ZW as a Zelda resource! Hope to see you around the wiki :) 22:13, 21 April 2011 (EDT)

:Never mind that. This time I'll ask you something different. Can you please downgrade my user rights rank? -- 02:42, 30 April 2011 (EDT)
:It's not that I want that, but Dany is somewhat pissed off with me due to a minor mistake I made into an article due to not using linking shortcuts (I never used them anyway, I always pipe-linked the long way to game articles and them I accidentally made one mistake). I appreciate your trust, pals =,(. It was indeed a minor mistake the one that I dropped. It was while I was editing a page that needed an urgent overhaul, because it was written by a newcomer and Ganondorfdude11 was already proposing its deletion. I usually don't rush to this extent an edit, because I know what happens when otherwise. Dany was perhaps just shocked after realizing that I never used shortcuts when linking to a game article. Anyway, I apologize for all the drama; I guess I forgot that this wiki luckily lacks the devilish Wikipedia paranoia syndrome. BTW, when you have time, can you read the linked sandbox page? It has been ready since a few days ago. -- 12:37, 1 May 2011 (EDT)

Hey, Thanks for even commenting, bro! (Timeline Theories.)
Again, thanks for commenting, honestly. Now with my theories and links? I'll explain it simply... I hope it will be too, Cip. Heh.
Example being a time link? Say, Twilight Princess, and Ocarina of Time. They can both EITHER show the continuity of the ALttP series (includes LA, OoS/OoA.) Because think of it this way, what if the link back then in TP or OoT had the same child and the bloodline continued? Or if the reincarnation was reawakened yet again in such little time as in seven, ten, or even shorter, In both time links! (EVEN splits, but if so, they would me split links.) plus it's more believable that OoT is more to the ALttP series then TP, BUT. It is possible, if you truly do think about this and go in depth of the history and evidence. Plus again, it COULD fit into the fact of TP, being after OoT and MM.
Now my splits with the Four Sword/Wind Waker trilogy games. Now as you saw in TWW, you see link going on and finding all the islands and etc, the end hits, they go onto different lands. /LANDS/. Now this is ANOTHER split, Link could have possibly not found the empty land of the Lokomo's and rather found the Picori/Vaati/Elzo, and established the society there rather then Spirit Tracks. And EVEN the ALttP series could involve LIGHTLY about the ship travels of PH and TWW, but thats just a simple funny look, but it /MIGHT/, but unlikely though, won't say most unlikely though, too rough on that, y'know?
Example: (CHILD TIMELINE.) SS --> OoT --> MM --> TP --> --ALttP/LA, OoS/OoA.-- (This part is where it could be LINKED, it can go to or from OoT and MM, or, TP, now.) ...then TWW/PH to Four Sword series...??? A funny guess or funny look, again.
Example 2: (ADULT TIMELINE.) SS --> OoT --> TWW --> PH --> (possibly) Four Sword series/Minish Cap --> Four Swords, Four Swords Adventure (ALSO includes Minish Cap.)
Then the normal going on the timeline. SS --> OoT --> TWW --> PH --> SP.
Now honestly for the Four Sword/TWW/PH series, doesn't have to make sense? Time can change, I mean look at us in the world of today. /OFF TOPIC SORT OF. We went from rock to wood, railroad to cars, trains to airplanes. Get the picture now? The little split in the TWW/PH/Four Swords series must have been as the SP change.
Then with the Final and original games of the Series, they must be either the last in the series, or literally after ALttP series (say even if that COULD be the bloodline of the Link in ALttP), or between the time of OoT (because of Ganon and Zelda, that would probably be a revival and a tiny spat of a mess in that game.) Then AoL or the Adventure of Link, the sequel, which a few or much more years later after said other first game of Zelda.
(In the future and advance, forgive me if I stepped in and out of abbreviations of games, naming of games, and series to series and links, here and there. Trust me, Cip, my mind can be, endless, confusing, and thanks to my nature? Scorpius-like. Being a rather deep Scorpio due to my birth in November. xD;;)
The point is? Timeline's change, things change, technology changes, magic and items change, EVERYTHING can change and still relate to it depending on the evidence, the links on how it COULD relate and still go down, and how the timeline can be one, just by thinking carefully, and showing the evidence in word by word or by showing it you, one way or another. This ALL involves Technology, Magic, Timing, Evidence, Proof, Links, Splits, and of course, the Zelda Timeline. AKA?: Confusing crazy timeline of despair and agony. Even thinking of this? Gave my BRAIN pain, cause I can get so in depth about thinking about this.
And here ya go, bud. :D /God help me with this. And honestly? I hope you do get my point and meaning, its honestly too hard to explain, it's lucky I was able to TYPE this out for you. The rest you don't get? You have to use your brain, mind, and thinking abilities.
(...Excuse me for my rather... Exceeding vocabulary for such a user and person. I'm pretty young too, which to most people is outstanding for my age...) User:Hylian Historic
:<s>I wish I had time right now to read this, but I've got to run! When I get back tonight, I'll give it the read through it deserves. 15:25, 25 May 2011 (EDT)</s> Ok, I'm here. I'm still a bit confused, but I'll try to twirl this idea around. First, with the "time link" in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. Are you saying that in either game, Link could have a child that is spiritually awakened as the next hero, and thus springs right into the line? Or is it more like a "time loop" in that the stories exist in a circular pattern, and every time a Link is born, the next game in the timeline series begins? Either way, its interesting in the same way theoretical physics is interesting (love that stuff on string theory, but anyway); it'll definitely need some in-game support - it relies heavily on speculation... but if I'm not getting the point, let me know! There's a strong possibility I'm just babbling. :) <br>
:Next, The Wind Waker and the Four Swords series. This to me is much easier to prove because Phantom Hourglass leaves its ending so open to interpretation. Literally, anything could come after Phantom Hourglass (well, within reason, and possibly even in an alternate dimension) and as long as Spirit Tracks follows around 100 years later, the timeline arc is preserved. The Minish Cap could come after Phantom Hourglass, as could the Oracles, it just depends how much speculation you want to have in your timeline - then again, putting anything between Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks is one of those arguments that could not be disproved, or proven by any in-game evidence, given the span of time between the two. In that same vein, the distance between Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess is also 100 years, but connective evidence restricts the flexibility of the timeline at that point. Let me know if I'm ringing any bells here! Keep going with this idea, supported or not, I think it's highly intriguing. 20:11, 25 May 2011 (EDT)
Now this is namely for the term time link. (Also, you have a rather nice point about the fact of OoS/OoA, PH/ST, etc. very good point, it's that certain connector to some important games, very nice call.) Now for example, ALttP description says, After Ocarina of Time. That's literally possible to think that maybe into the future, Ganon might have tried ANOTHER attack again with the wizard minion he had. Yes, what my point is Cip, is that literally in either link possible, OoT fits into ALttP with it's information (as either said to be after OoT or BEFORE OoT.) and theories, and a probable yes to a 'time loop' to what you said, EVEN PH can fit into the category as you just said about the FS series and TWW series. Honestly you're confused and you're not babbling, trust me bro. It took me alot of time to even conjure all of this. Plus it was on a Thursday, which did not technically help me that night, heh. But the 'time loop' or the 'time link' is heavy speculation from me, but if you look at said info from the games, and how you kind of look on it? Twilight Princess can fit due to the fact of, say, it was OoT, TP, THEN, ALttP, or OoT, ALttP, then TP. Do you see how it might be possible the two games can link up to ALttP? Well, at least I hope you know where my point gets at to you. xD;; It's hard evidence and speculation to actually prove it to people, including people such as you, or Mandi (AS AN EXAMPLE, ONLY.), etc. Honestly, I love these games, dearly, but they made the games so /badly/ confusing in time wise you have the fun speculation, which is actually the point. It's not /REALLY/ fun to say, this goes there, then go there, then there, THEN there. So it's fun to speculate, theorize, or think. But I try to at least make the games and the timeline at LEAST understandable to the people, and  good point about the ending on PH again, Cip. It's very possible that it could most probably happen. But I don't understand completely how Oracles can possibly fit into the ending of PH's ending, (despite in fact of ALttP's continuity.) could you explain to me a bit how you think Oracles can involve the FS series/TWW series, and of all the games year wise look of them all? It could range from 20, 30, 50, 70, 100, 200, 600, or even a 1,000 years, it's DEPENDS on ALL speculation, or proof from the makers of Zelda. Why yes you are ringing bells for the both of us, bro. xD;; Good calls, but some confusing ones too, bud.
And honestly, I don't go on of much disapproval or support? I'm more on the lines of saying; If you understand what I'm trying to say, in how this can or COULD link into the two games, or the games, or how its possible that they can all be linked from generation to generation. Or, how it's possible to theorize and/or speculate that the games can be all linked together despite technology and century/millennium by information such as Sheikah, Hylians, Ooccoa, Wars, etc. (I hope you get that point of the races, technology, and the reasoning of why I said etc.) Now, only if we could have a chatroom on this site or had like Skype or a chatroom, it'd be easier, but hey, easy come, easy go, huh? xD;; User:Hylian Historic
:Alright, I'm starting to understand what you're getting at! yay. The games can interchange for each other because there is evidence in each game to support multiple timeline locations, even some that aren't generally accepted. The only reason I preach about evidence and support is because since this wiki is about as factual as one can get on a series that prides itself in the theorizing power of its community, we only try to sponsor the most evidenced theories on the wiki itself. We're all about references, in-game text, and manual/plot support to back up theory - there's still a lot of speculation in here, and because of this, it may not be the best theory to feature on a factually-based wiki, but it still is very intriguing. In respect to my OoA/OoS - PH comment, I was saying that because Phantom Hourglass leaves it's ending so open for timeline continuity, and that about 100 years expires between it and its confirmed sequel Spirit Tracks, any other game could occur in between this time period, regardless of previous events, and as long as the ship makes it to New Hyrule at the end of 100 years, the timeline arc is preserved. I get what you're getting at! :) Have you submitted this theory to any forums in the Zelda community? It's the only way it can grow in support - be sure to check out every opportunity to have this idea heard. 00:43, 28 May 2011 (EDT)
I understand completely and I actually honestly do have some proof or evidence of how I theorize that it could be and maybe possible in fact of the games able to become one giant timeline. (That's the point of it all, to make it go into a sequence order sort of thing.) But it's rather difficult to say it on a wikia such as Zelda Wiki. Due to a lack of a chatbox sort of tool/option (suggestion alert, by the way.) or an inbox manner and/or option. But now, as you can see with you and I talking about this. Is the timeline loop, or the time link. Right? Well that's basically how it seems currently as of now. xD;; The games ALSO involved with this are as said: OoT, ALttP, TP, and Minor, but are as included! OoS/OoA. Also, in now said theory of the Adult Timeline, PH is the very possible ending to the FS series, also possible to OoS/OoA, and ST. Cip, also remind yourself, this is NOT, confirmed at all, this is more like an idea of some sorts, because usually I always wished to think about how at least ALL of the games currently of the franchise, can fit into a larger timeline, including up-coming possible games can be placed wherever or whenever, you know? Also into your option in the other community, I can and might actually, but honestly, I'm not that wide of being my name, as is Hylian Historic. Maybe if it's sent across some particular sites around the community? Sure! I won't mind whatsoever at all, but it'll take some time for me to actually appear and say it publicly, because I take my time on most things, you know? User:Hylian Historic
:Funny you mention a chatbox; Zelda Wiki is on Skype! Look here for all information on how to join the chats, many of which I am a part of! We have a general wiki chat, editor's chat for all things pertaining to the improvement of the site, and other specific chats related to Zelda. We can most definitely talk on there about this theory - my activity on this site and on Skype is going to temporarily drop as I prepare for vacation this week, but ask any of the other active staff on the wiki's Skype page (linked earlier) to add you in! 22:03, 28 May 2011 (EDT)
:...Oh. Well this shows some of my stupidity that I don't know about this site. xD;; Joy. But that's great! ...Happy face can inserted by all of this for all chats, editors, general, improvement. I'm happy for that. :D Hey, I already have Skype, and a username and such, are you able to get me in? Since an admin and/or a person who knows you from this site has to invite you into the chat for most of your time on Skype or rest of your username life. Heh, either or, thanks again! :D;; User:Hylian Historic
