Not sure where to respond

I wasn't sure where I should respond to what you put on my talk page, so I put the response to why I believe the Rabbitland Rescue image is the one in the same as the one on Zeldapedia on my own talk page. --MrMime 15:33, 27 August 2010 (EDT)

Generally we try to keep discussions on a single page. It makes them easier to follow in archives.User:Matt/sig 19:36, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

I am wondering how does a user change what their prefences are on their page. As you can tell I am a newb for wiki editing. ironclad 13:30, 4 February 2011 (EST)

Quotes

I already asked this question to two users, but seeing as they're offline since some time ago, I thought I could ask you instead. I'm interested on writing quotes in the black-colored sections of my userpage; however, when I add one, the template eliminates the black color of the background whenever it's placed (it's the same thing that happens with the Contributor and Game Completion templates, hence why I had to add them at the start of the userpage). Is there a way to avoid this? Thanks in advance! --K2L (Interrogatory) 22:21, 17 November 2010 (EST)

More on signatures

Hi Matt, I now have a transcluded signature but I included parameters to allow other users to use it to their liking. --Myrtonos (forum pm) 01:43, 13 January 2011 (EST)

I have no clue how to do most of this stuff on this wiki but i would like to learn so can u help me and thanks in advance ironclad 13:28, 4 February 2011 (EST)

Hey, Matt. Sup?

I feel stupid asking this, and there's probably a way to find out for myself, but your page is the only page I can think of for an example of it, and you locked it ... Anyway, so you know how you have those quotes? How do I? (Example being right at the top of the page saying "How'd you like to marry Malon?") Thanks. ZENOX T C 19:46, 23 January 2011 (EST)

City in the Sky

Lately, I have been editing the Land articles to provide a bit of harmony. The next one, I think, is the City in the Sky, home of the Oocca. Being its article one of the Dungeon variety, I'm not very sure on how to edit it in accordance with the format of the other Land pages (Hyrule, Termina, Great Sea, etc.) without messing with the flow of the dungeon-based sections (entrance, themes and navigation, etc.). So I though I could ask for advice before editing it. --K2L (Interrogatory) 19:57, 7 February 2011 (EST)

Well, both the City and the City are talked about in the games as if they're great, large areas. But really we only get to see a small area. With the City in the Sky, it appears that what's in the dungeon is all there is to it though. So I guess we really don't have much choice than to treat it as a dungeon instead. User:Matt/sig 01:22, February 8, 2011 (UTC)
I guess that's correct (at least the Twilight Realm is known to have much more than just the palace, as well as a more detailed storyline). Thanks for the advice! --K2L (Interrogatory) 20:25, 7 February 2011 (EST)

Nintendo articles

Matt, I see you reverted my edits to the DSi and DSi XL articles. I don't know if you were aware, but I recently moved most of the content from the staff and systems categories over to NIWA's Nintendo Wiki. This was discussed among the staff a few months back and it was unanimously agreed that N-Wiki was the logical home for this information. I've long felt that these articles were mostly quite poor quality, so it makes sense to centralise them somewhere they can be actively worked on and improved for the benefit of all. All that I've kept here at ZW is information pertaining specifically to the Zelda series. Effectively it represents a minor change in ZW's de facto coverage policy, but since nothing about these type of general articles has ever been clearly stated before (as far as I'm aware) there was no written policy for me to actually change. User:Adam/sig 03:12, 21 May 2011 (EDT)

There was some talk on Skype about it. The main problem is mostly that you used redirects to N-wiki. When short summary versions are more practical. And yes, I did look at the moved N Wiki content. You didn't look at what you were copying. Templates are used differently over there and it didn't cross over correctly. Such as on the 3DS page, which uses our new Ref template. The staff here didn't seem to think there wasn't any discussion on it at all either. They were confused. But regardless, there was some talk on the public NIWA forum and the public chat on NIWA some months ago agreeing that interwiki redirects were making more problems than they were worth. Things like difficulty to edit, bugs with special pages, inconvenience for users, etc. The talk in the public chat pretty much agreed that some sort of notice on the page directing people to the other wiki instead was preferable. Just a rule of thumb to go by, if you think it might be controversial, ask first. Publicly, where it can be seen. Also, actually conversing regularly with these people instead of ignoring them until it's convenient helps a lot too. User:Matt/sig 15:04, May 21, 2011 (UTC)
