College and Stuff

So, how was the college? I remember you left a few days ago? Did you like it? User:Seablue254/sig 18:32, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Good. Not as far of a walk to classes as I thought. The campus police is practically right next door to my residence hall, so it'll be nice and quiet. That is actually why I chose that hall. No roommate! Yay! (Cost an extra $500 though) The best place to eat on campus is right behind my residence hall, and so is the student health building. It will be great. Moving up in about two weeks. Start just after labor day, I think. Is that what that day is called? I can never remember.User:Mjr162006/sig 18:39, August 15, 2008 (UTC)
Wow. Nice, very nice. So, you'll still be able to contribute, right? The Dorm Room hopefully has a compy? Or do you have a Laptop? We'd hate to not have you here for 4 years! User:Seablue254/sig 19:51, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
I'll bring this PC I am using now. They have hard-line access in the dorm rooms, but not wireless. I'll get a laptop too for the wireless areas. I'll need that for classes anyway. Just about everywhere on campus has wireless, just not in the dorms. They are still trying to find out what the best way is to do it. They'll have it before I graduate.User:Mjr162006/sig 22:29, August 15, 2008 (UTC)
I suggest upgrading the PC. If it is to be used, you want something with good power. Maybe use the Lappy for schoolwork and the Compy for storage and internet? User:Seablue254/sig 22:37, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, also, what are the classes? How long will they be? User:Seablue254/sig 23:16, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

American History, Calculus, Computer Science, World History, English. Most classes are 50 minutes long. Computer Science is one hour and fifteen minutes long and is about C++ programming. Most days will have three classes, but Friday I only have two. Earliest class is a 9:00 AM latest is about 2:00 PM, central time. It is awesome. It pays to register your classes at the earliest possible time! Only computer science will be any challenge for me. I don't have any experience with C++ programming. I already knew everything in my calculus book before I was a senior in high school. Heck, I already know a lot that is taught in Calculus II and Calculus III and much more than that. Math will be a breeze in college.User:Mjr162006/sig 00:17, August 16, 2008 (UTC)

So in other words, it's like normal high/middle school, yet A LOT less time. I have 7 hours of Middle School. Your college sounds like only 3 maybe 4 hours a day, with time in between. Anyway, we seem to be similar in Math, except I don't learn ahead. I'm good at Math, actually school in general. If there's an honors class to attain, I'm in it. But math was probably my best subject. I got the usual 90 or above on all tests, maybe 1 or to 85-89's. Never below 85 though. But your college sounds like it also has better people. Mine has bullies. College probably won't. User:Seablue254/sig 00:25, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Here is my typical calc test in high school: I finish it in about ten to fifteen minutes. Two days later, everyone else finishes.
I beat the bullies in my class with words. I stood up to them in early middle school one day. After that, everyone was nicer to each other from then on and bulling became rare in the within about three grades of mine. Yeah that college is nice. But no matter where you go, there will still be idiots that do foolish things, mess around, and that should not have even made it into high school, let alone college. But it is a safer college than most. We didn't have much for honors courses in my school, but I did take Algebra I in eighth grade for high school credit. I don't think the honors courses in the college are for freshman.User:Mjr162006/sig 00:42, August 16, 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I tried stopping my bullies too. Once, one comes. I tell him to stop. He says "Oh, you wanna fight?" I was "Uh...no". After that, I haven't been bullied much, because I'm pretty sure most of the bullies don't target me. They're just mean in general. As for my test, I'm not like that, considering my math tests are usually done in one day, it goes like this for me. We get the test at the beginning of the period. After 10-15 minutes, the really smart kids and I finish. After 30-35 minutes, the normal honors kids finish. Around 5 minutes to the end of the period and AFTER class is finished, the low-end honors kids (Believe me, there are some kids who made it into honors by like, a point and it makes me wonder how they got in) finish. Anyway, my honors classes are pretty much like skipping a grade of school. In seventh grade (What I just finished) we have our curriculum rushed. We learn all of the 7th and 8th grade curriculum in 7th grade. In the first half we do all of what the normal 7th grade would be doing, then in the second half we do what the 8th grade would learn. In 8th grade the Math, English and History classes will be doing 9th grade things, and Science will be spent doing Earth Science (Usually learned in 9th grade). User:Seablue254/sig 15:43, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I took American history in tenth grade. That was an eleventh grade class. Those math tests, no matter how long it took everyone else, I was always the first one done. The grades on the tests were great too. What really helped was learning the material ahead of time. I knew all the shortcuts, I could do a problem in my head in about ten to twenty seconds that would take someone else five to ten minutes to write out. Everyone was jealous of me. All it takes is to learn the material ahead of time. That's it.User:Mjr162006/sig 16:23, August 16, 2008 (UTC)

Sounds like you're a mirror of me. I'm just naturally smart; my parents say I'm like a sponge when it comes to learning. I go to a class - Hey, do you know the answer to --? or - Hey, do you know the Spanish for the word here? I'm usually asked questions in class. I don't even have to study. I really only study for History and English test, Math and Science just come to me. Anyway, about your programming class, you said you didn't know C++ programming? I thought you would be taking out a book and learning it right now! I tried that once; I took out C++ for dummies from the library once. I still remember the face the librarian had when he saw the computer books I was taking out; he must have been thinking "C++ for dummies? WTF? Wait, HTML 4 for dummies? How in the- Upgrading and Fixing Laptops for Dummies, What?". Yes, I know, I'm a big fan of the For Dummies books. They take hard subjects like computers, and make them easy to learn. They don't just type up a whole monolouge about how a UPS is important for a computer, they make it humorous and enjoyable to read. User:Seablue254/sig 16:40, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
I have the book we're using in the class right now. The total price for all my books so far is over $300. I still have a few more to get too. I'll learn fast. I learn things quickly. I had no idea how to do any of this wiki editing when I came here (four months ago to the day on this day). Now look at me. I'm a natural. I'll get the hang of C++ really fast.
You sound like me! I'm a natural when it comes to math and science. English and history were my rougher parts. But I improved on those areas quickly over the last few years. Mostly because the high school history teacher and English teacher were both awesome. English classes were divided between two teachers. The last one I had is awesome and it is thanks to him that I feel confident in writing those books. Those two, the history and English teachers, they try hard to make learning funny. They slipped in jokes at every opportunity and simplified what the books were trying to tell us.User:Mjr162006/sig 17:45, August 16, 2008 (UTC)
I've got a flashlight here. It has a large, metallic, standard-looking switch and a small, plastic one. The plastic one turns on the light. Guess what the metal one does. Heh, heh.°‿°
No..way. My English and History teachers were awesome in 7th grade also. My History teacher made everything funny. This one kid in our honors classes; he's a smart***. He thinks hes awesome and has bully friends and everything. He tries to be funny in my history class, but everytime he made a joke, not many people would laugh. But then. Then, my history teacher would come right back and joke about him. EVERYBODY started to laugh. The kid never gave up. He kept trying to show off. Once, around Christmas, my teacher made a competition with him. Everytime either of them made a joke and people laughed, they got a point. One of my friends was chosen as he scorekeeper. First one to twenty laughs would win. You could easily guess who one. My English teacher was awesome also. She wa very nice. Once, we had to do Hamlet in out class and got tested on it. No one, NO ONE got over an 80. I think I actually think I failed that test. But she noticed, made an easier version of the test, and retested us. We did better this time. She took those test scores instead. I can't believe how alike we are, Matt. You must be some long lose brother of mine. My other 2 brothers are nothing like me. They're smart, but not as smart. Could it be possible I'm your younger brother ? ;) User:Seablue254/sig 17:58, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm guessing the metal one sprays something, like water? Heh, that reminds me of the rubber band I keep on me usually. :::Whenever I get annoyed by a brother, I usually pull it out of my pocket/wrist and shoot them down :D

Could be, there is one thing, but not something that I'll discuss here. Perhaps in a more private place.User:Mjr162006/sig 18:08, August 16, 2008 (UTC),
Nah, the metal switch shocks you. Unlike the other electric shock tricks, this one is very subtle. No way to really tell ahead of time. The perfect joke. That is, after I remove the warning label that says "emits electric shock".

If you're in the Chatroom, i'll be right there. If not, come on in so you can tell me. User:Seablue254/sig 18:13, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Matt! I was thinking that someone deleted my post, I never thought to look at the bottom of page. WOW! What a genius I am! I deleted my repeat, so thanks ;)—The Sage of Cosmos 13:17, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Suggestion

I remember asking you if you had an aplication called skype. You said you didn't. Wll, I think you should get it. My reasoning? 1 - I usually talk to you often, and with skype, I can send you Messages in real time or even talk to you with a mic. 2 - It logs you in whn you start your omputer, so you are ready whenever I have a question 3 - It's free :) Lastly, I need to talk to you. So yeah, come to the 'room, plz. User:Seablue254/sig 17:07, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

After I said that Rope/Lantern thing, Chatzilla didn't update anymore! It didn't come up as locked up, but I didn't see any of your messages after that!. Sorry. I need a new PC, bad.User:Mjr162006/sig 18:25, August 24, 2008 (UTC)
Oh? And there I was, for 20 minutes, anxiously waiting for you to reply. My calls of "MATT!" "DUDE!" were unanswered, and I left. Anyway, yes, you need a new PC. From what I know, Dell's are cheap and use Okay parts, like a Celereon processor instead of Pentium. That keeps the prices down. What about that Laptop? You said you were getting one. It might be a good idea to break that in now to see if it as any faulty parts before leaving for Brookings. User:Seablue254/sig 18:52, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't know. I don't think I can get one until I start taking in money. I'm going to get some sort of job up there. A new laptop is at the top of the list.User:Mjr162006/sig 19:15, August 24, 2008 (UTC)
I see. You wanna, you know, resume what we started? User:Seablue254/sig 19:18, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Let me restart Firefox first. I need to free up some RAM.User:Mjr162006/sig 19:21, August 24, 2008 (UTC)

So, I remember you saying you might try it out. Have you done so yet? User:Seablue254/sig 14:49, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Not yet.User:Mjr162006/sig 15:00, August 25, 2008 (UTC)
How about now? What about those other programs, also? User:Seablue254/sig 21:53, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

I've been too busy fixing redirects and I was just now moving all the stuff in an office across town.User:Mjr162006/sig 23:33, August 25, 2008 (UTC)

Sounds like you've been busy. Np. User:Seablue254/sig 23:44, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
So, anything yet? I'll be in the chatroom if you wanna talk there. User:Seablue254/sig 14:51, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

College

Well, I'm up at the college now. I'm on a public PC at the moment. New internet connections cannot be made in the dorm rooms today since it is a holiday. I'll set it up tommorrow. But it is supposed to take up to 36 hours or so to go through. So I'll be out for a while.
My dorm room is actually bigger than my old room at home. I don't have a room mate. Classes start a 4:00PM tommorrow. But all my classes end before 2:00PM so I don't have class until Wednesday. I'll check in later tonight and a couple times tommorrow.User:Mjr162006/sig 16:05, September 1, 2008 (UTC)

Happy to know. I was wondering where the heck you were. Until now, I thought you had neglected to set up your PC, because you weren't here nor on skype. So, 36 hours to set up an internet connection?! What?! Or is it 36 hours to get a new page opened? Either way, it has proved itself to be crappy. Anyway, happy to hear you like the Dorm Room. It has a desk and nightstand, I hope. Those are two things that are good to have around. Weird question, but do the rooms open by a key, a card key, what? Just curious. Anyway, hope you get to find a job soon. You'll need to pay for those meals, unless you make them yourself, in which case you need to buy ingrediants ;) See you later, dude. User:Seablue254/sig 17:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
The time for an internet connection to go through is because someone has to physically confirm it on the other end. There are several thousand freshman coming up here. It takes some time. Meals are already covered we use a prepaid card to buy meals. Dorm rooms are locked with actual keys and not cards. Cards tend to get corrupted real easy. I'm still going to find a job though. There is a possible opening that I'm going to go interview for on Friday. I might not go for that one because the pay is way too low from what I have heard. But I'll still check. The primary mode of fast transport is by bike. A lot more bikes can fit in one place than cars. I had to get a lock for the bike. That isn't an issue in my hometown, but up here it is.User:Mjr162006/sig 00:35, September 2, 2008 (UTC)
Okay, so the internet connection has to be physically confirmed. Considering you say you stay up past midnight, after midnight get the internet connection request. Tomorrow tell them that You need it confirmed. You'll be one of the first people asking for it, anyway. As for the prepaid card, does it only have a certain amount of money on it, or is it for the whole year? Anyway, when you use your bike, keep a map somewhere on it/you. You don't want to get lost.Anyway, I hope you get a good job and have a good last day of vacation tomorrow. God knows I'll be squeezing out my last day. Oh, and when you get a chance, can I get the files you needed to make the ZW add-on? User:Seablue254/sig 00:44, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

No internet in my dorm room yet. A lot of people in my section of the building are having the the same problem. It won't get to the sign-up page that we need to fill out for us to have access to the internet. The tech guy is working on it. As for those files, I can't send anything until my dorm room has internet. But I already sent all the files I used to you. It is all in the .xpi file. All an .xpi file is is a normal ZIP file with a different extension. All the files I used are in it. 7-Zip has no trouble opening these files or creating them. By the way, I have a great schedule. It pays to register for classes at the earliest possible time. I'm done before noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. An by two on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Keep an eye on the site al least until I get my internet connected.User:Mjr162006/sig 17:41, September 3, 2008 (UTC)

Ah. I'll look at that. As for the site, I can't make any promises. I was back in school for the fist day today, so you'll be lucky to see me at all some days. If anything, I'll usually be her from 6-7PM. Anyway, it also pays to get in your honors classes. I'm in Honors Math, History, English, and Science. For the Math and Science classes, Since I'm in 8th Grade, I'm learning 9th grade Math, and Earth Science. Instead of Final Examinations, I'm going to take regents for them. Considering I pass the regents, I know that I get a high school credit for Math and Science. Even better, considering I pass the Science Regents, I would only need to gain one more Science credit before I'm finished with High School Science. Even then I have the chance to take Advanced Science courses, which I think would earn myself College Credits :D User:Seablue254/sig 21:37, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm Back...

Hey, remember me? The guy who was going to do the website? I'm back and I'm working on that website. Pakkun 21:41, 7 September 2008 (UTC)PakkunReply[reply]

...I expected a bigger welcome... Unless you've forgetten about me. Pakkun 00:29, 15 September 2008 (UTC)PakkunReply[reply]
Sorry, Matt's not very active anymore since he's started college. You probably shouldn't expect him to show up very much. User:Ando/sig 03:12, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh... Okay. Do you know Seablue's condition? Whether or not he's on much I mean. I'm hardly on anyway. Pakkun 21:36, 15 September 2008 (UTC)PakkunReply[reply]
Yeah, pretty much the same for him, although Sea's actually told me that he's pretty much left the Wiki altogether due to school and other things taking up time and such. User:Ando/sig 03:11, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
All my friends are leaving! Nooooo! You're the 3rd (out of the only 3) people I remember from back in the summer... Pakkun 23:07, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, I'm still here. I was only having technical difficulties. Got that website up yet?User:Mjr162006/sig 19:05, September 19, 2008 (UTC)

No, not yet... I have to perfect the site's HTML coding. This is pretty good that I'm getting in the business before a game is announced. My Pokémon Website is hectic because Platinum just came out. Anyway, hi. Pakkun 02:58, 20 September 2008 (UTC)PakkunReply[reply]

where the heck u been man what is this

what do you think this is some kind of just leave and not tell anyone party
because it's not
we're gonna send out a search party
unless you just, you know, died or something
that wouldn't be too cool, but if we never find you then i guess that's what happened User:Ando/sig 15:14, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

oh wait school w/e
i'm graduated so w/e
w/e User:Ando/sig 15:15, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
double crap i thought i was on seablues page
but i guess it applies to both of you
ummm
forget i said anything okay man cool User:Ando/sig 15:16, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
School. Sorry. It's been taking up all of my time, leaving me with little time. And uh, what kind of spelling is this? User:Seablue254/sig 22:31, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
I hear you, my computer's been down so I've been using one at my library, fortunately I got it running yesterday, but now I have to reinstall everything. User:MARKOL/sig 19:26, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Wheres Seablue? Hey Matt, I'm new on wiki in case you havn't seen the name, but anyways, do you know what happened to Seablue, his/her page says Seablue has either left wiki or been banned. Seablue was really nice, what happened? The Sage of Cosmos 18:50, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, Sea left a note on my talk page stating that school seems to have gotten in the way and so he probably won't be coming back very often, if at all. Hence "this user has left Zelda Wiki". It's a shame, but... what can you do, right? User:Ando/sig 19:03, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Ahhh... Crap. I've been trying for over two weeks to get my computer on the internet. All attempts failed. I had to buy a brand-new laptop just to get on. I just got it working just now. The public PCs are busy all the time and I had too much to do to wait for one. But I should be able to get in more often now.User:Mjr162006/sig 01:15, September 17, 2008 (UTC)

It seems that I'm back in action. I'll try to come hear as often as possible. I'll be able to check the recent changes often. Most times there'll be nothing to patrol so I can still get in other work first. But my classes are fairly light on take-home work. A lot of it is done during classtime. It is ironic. I'm patroling the site almost as much as I did before. Classes take up only three hours or so a day. Homework is not a daily constant so that is great. Too bad I don't have a PayPal account to help with the new server. Money is really tight now. Maybe later.User:Mjr162006/sig 21:49, October 2, 2008 (UTC)

Featured Picture Vote Removal

So when did we decide that two people couldn't have the same opinion? Because as far as I can see it, we've yet to do this, or even discuss this at any length. Yes, we're working on figuring out what exactly should be considered a good vote, but never did we discuss anything like this. If two people share the same problem with something being featured, they should be able to voice their opinion.
One person may think that an article shouldn't be featured because it has no images. Voter two may agree. However, with this "rule" voter two would have to make up a new reason to be able to state any sort of opinion! One shouldn't be disabled from being able to voice their (valid) opinion just because someone else mentioned it already. If we were to do that, it would follow then that only one person could vote FOR something saying "great article, well-written, lots of references, good organization". What do the latter nine people say? All in all, this whole idea is absolutely crazy in my opinion.
Basically what I'm trying to say is please don't try to be a moderator and attempt implementing new voting rules without discussing it first. Heck, most of the time I'll state my opinion on doing something before I actually do it. User:Ando/sig 21:29, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

We did discuss the general idea, here. And I'm right. It is not fair to other voters. It is that simple. Just saying what the last voter said is just filler and is not a fair use of votes. It is not that difficult to understand and I'm extremely surprised that you cannot understand this simple concept. I thought that you of all people would understand the need for more rules like this. And we did discuss this very thing. I might also point out that that one image did not show up against its background at all on my old PC, so many countless others will have that problem too. He ws too quick to vote.User:Mjr162006/sig 21:43, October 6, 2008 (UTC)
PS: Where did our logo go?
As far as "being a moderator", I already do everything you do, short of blocking/unlocking users and deleting content. I've invested a great deal of time into this website. More time than anyone else since I've joined. It is my responsibility to help this site maintain a proper course into the future. As far being my attempts at being a leader, you can thank the 19 years of "brainwashing" by my father. He is a strong believer in being a leader. It is ingrained in me. I cannot help it. It is my duty to maintain this site. If that includes moderating votes, then so be it. I've defended this site from vandals. I've helped out just about every new user that decided to stick around. I've completely revolutionized our featured content system. I've earned this right through hard work. There is no denying that. Now, please undo your edit to the Featured Picture Nomination page.User:Mjr162006/sig 22:00, October 6, 2008 (UTC)
I understand what you're saying, it would really be no different than saying "QFT" to the above opposition, but Yuvorias did state his opinion in a different way and actually made it a bit more clear. User:MARKOL/sig 22:15, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

It was still the same opinion. One of the votes had to go. It would have been even less fair to get rid of the vote from Article and Picture Voter. It is the lesser of two evils. It is necessary. And even though it isn't against the rules. I frown upon regular users voting in opposition so quickly. Most of of users are not regulars. So us regulars voting so fast on those things is not fair to the majority of users.User:Mjr162006/sig 22:21, October 6, 2008 (UTC)

When I said "please don't mod", I meant this: It's one thing to uphold existing rules. It's another thing entirely to create and enact new rules on your own. Regardless of how long you've been here, you can't do that. I've been a respected and longstanding member in certain communities for years, but if I were to do that I'd be slammed pretty quickly.
I saw nowhere in that discussion where it stated that one should not vote because of the same reason being held -- only that quite often voters didn't have a good reason ("this is a cool boss", "other people are saying this so I guess I will", etc.). Two people sharing a valid opinion are still having a good reason to vote, whether for or against. Imagine that Nintendo were having a poll to bring Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland to the US. One person says, "yes, because I don't want to have to spend all of that extra money (or learn Japanese) just to play it". Another person says yes, because they also don't want to have to spend loads of money importing. Are you telling me that the second person's vote shouldn't count? I'm sorry if telling other people that they can't state their opinions just doesn't make sense to me, but it really doesn't.
Not sure what you're talking about with the image not showing up -- did your monitor need adjusting or something? User:Ando/sig 22:47, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
P.S. uh, what? I see the logo just fine. You mean the top left-hand corner logo, right?
You know full well that this is not even close to being a poll. It is completely different. Time for bluntness. Forget your feeling of your authority being subverted, because it wasn't. Actually consider it. I'm right, it is not fair to other voters to have two opposition votes with exact same reason stated. If you'd listen to reason up the number of votes from three to five then it may be different. But as it stands, with only three votes, it is completely unfair for all voters to have duplicate reason votes. I don't think I'm right, I know I'm right. It is not a difficult concept to understand. Not at all. So undo the edit.User:Mjr162006/sig 23:01, October 6, 2008 (UTC)
I don't feel that my authority has been subverted at all. And I have considered this, even discussed it with others. The consensus has been that, quite frankly, the idea is nuts. I don't believe in repressing peoples' opinions to help decide what does and doesn't become featured just because someone else said it first. After all, the featured content is chosen by the community. Seems rather pointless when you remove a portion of the community and say "well, I don't care if you have a valid reason! first voters get dibs".
Please don't believe that I "don't understand this simple concept", because I do. But the opinion has been laid out for both this and the "raise the opposition limit to 5" idea. I see no point in continuing to argue it as the whole thing is just going to become incredibly redundant (or rather, it already has). So to respond to your requests: No.
I will now be withdrawing from this discussion unless something new is brought up that should be responded to. User:Ando/sig 23:26, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
P.S. seriously, what logo issue i don't get it D:
P.P.S. I'd be willing to add a suggestion on the nomination pages saying "It'd be best if maybe you waited a week or so before opposing??", though. Not a hard rule, but a suggestion, at least. Most of our regulars are pretty willing to listen to suggestions.

Very well. But keep in mind, I know I'm right. You're making a huge mistake. You might as well add that suggestion to the nomination page. But I will always remember this. This outright stubbornness and failure to listen to reason is a giant mistake. We've already lost one valuable member recently. Continue to dictate and suppress good changes and you risk losing another.User:Mjr162006/sig 23:41, October 6, 2008 (UTC)
PS: The logo is not there. What's not to understand?

Have... you ever thought that, perhaps, I also consider what I'm saying to be "reason", and that in my eyes, you're the one not listening to reason? :/ User:Ando/sig 23:48, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
P.S. I asked which logo, though. The top-left corner one? I notice nothing missing. Everything seems to be where it's supposed to be, even on the main page and such. Maybe it's an issue with your compy?
You're not changing my mind. I'm right, you're wrong. That is it. Now stop for a second and listen to yourself. This is basically what your saying:
"I don't care what you say. I'm a sysop so what I say goes. I don't care if you're right. Because I'm I sysop and I get what I want, no matter what it best for the wiki."
I know you don't mean this. But that sure as hell is the message your sending. Like it or not. Reconsider. This is not your site. No more is it mine. It is not up to you to dictate the rules. Bring it to a wiki-wide vote. There are many other people out there with a conscience.User:Mjr162006/sig 00:25, October 7, 2008 (UTC)
PS: The upper left logo. It is gone. It was here this morning. Now it is not.
  1. You consider one way to be best for the wiki, I consider another way to be best. No one way is the "absolute truth", so please stop assuming that it is. Sorry if I'm making it seem like I'm trying to wave my adminship above you -- as you said, I'm not trying to do so. However, no one way is absolute hands-down the best way ever or else it would be completely obvious to everyone. So the community could choose what it wants. Not sure how to go about doing that, though. Maybe a poll on the Featured Content talk pages (with one discussion redirecting to the other)?
  2. "It is not up to you to dictate the rules." Nor is it up to you, which is what you did in the initial edit that caused all of this, hence, I undid it -- upholding rules that don't exist isn't right.
  3. "There are many other people out there with a conscience." Personal attacks? Really? :P User:Ando/sig 00:43, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
P.S. Uh... well then I don't know what to tell you, dude. I see it. Have you tried it with several browsers / computers?
P.P.S. Also, as an extra note to clarify in case the point hasn't been made, I did not undo the edit because I disagree with the idea (I DO disagree with it, but that's not why I undid it). I undid the edit because it's not official policy, nor is it my place to make it so.
Let me tell you a little story. I've gotten into debates like this many times in the past. Well over two dozen. In almost all of them, very few if any people were on my side. In nearly every single one I was proven right. I have a tendency to be right on these things. It would be wise to save the trouble and admit defeat now. But we still should have a poll. Yes I'm getting an incredibly intense and immense impression of you waving your adminship in my face. If you actually were, that would be abusing it. But go on with the poll and post that message on the Nomination page.User:Mjr162006/sig 01:06, October 7, 2008 (UTC)
PS: No go. I asked some others in the dorm and a few in other dorms to check. Even some people back in the old hometown. It won't show up anywhere. Other PCs. Other browsers. No one is getting the logo. ???Why are you getting it??? Did you clear your cache?

I cleared my cache... I still see it. Works on IE, too. Absolutely bizarre. User:Ando/sig 02:44, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

It reappeared a day later. No explanation at all. I can't figure out what happened.User:Mjr162006/sig 10:31, October 20, 2008 (UTC)
I was most likely just one of those weird server glitches. A lot of goofy stuff was happening then.User:Mjr162006/sig 10:33, October 20, 2008 (UTC)
