I kept looking over them and I can not figure out what the difference between compressed and uncompressed images are. Pixle by pixle, pallete by pallete, they seem identicle. : Yup, that's right. The first thing that you should know about PNG compression is that it is lossless. By contrast, JPEG compression is lossy, which means that the heavier you compress the image, the worse it looks - you see artefacts and fringes and other ugliness. PNG compression will never change the appearance of the image. What RAP is doing with these images is basically re-running the PNG compression algorithm on them, but with different parameters. This means that the algorithm is finding other ways of compressing the image. It takes longer to run the compression process on his computer, but the upshot is that the images have a slightly smaller filesize. {{:User:Petenu/sig}} 09:45, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Just was wondering where the hell you found the awesome high-res and perfectly colored [[:File:Deku_Linktemp.jpg|Deku Link picture]]. I've been looking for the original ever since the game came out. ''Is'' this the original? [[User:Deku Link|DekuLink]] 23:27, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Recent Image Uploads

Hey there, and thanks for the recent image contributions, however, a lot of the images that you uploaded we already have, like File:ByrneSTtemp.jpg we already have a transparent version right here. So, I mean, we support JPG images, but PNG images are preferred because they support a transparent background and transparency looks better against the wiki's blue background. So, maybe you could do a transparency on the images before you add them? And also check to make sure you're not uploading a duplicate. Thanks.User:Mandi/sig 23:42, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

I kept looking over them and I can not figure out what the difference between compressed and uncompressed images are. Pixle by pixle, pallete by pallete, they seem identicle. Please elaborate for me please. ^ _^ -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 04:22, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I want to have YOUR babies.

Just was wondering where the hell you found the awesome high-res and perfectly colored Deku Link picture. I've been looking for the original ever since the game came out. Is this the original? DekuLink 23:27, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
