The enemies in the game consist of a Moblin, which must be (and is the only basic enemy that can be) defeated (by stabbing it repeatedly) to continue and attacks you by throwing spears (these can be blocked by not attacking, thus keeping your shield forward), a Ghini, which launches attacks at you from behind (which can be blocked by stabbing, which places your shield behind you), and one to four Stalfos, which stand underneath you and try to swing their swords up at you, but giving you time to get out of the way.

Released in the late 80's, the Legend of Zelda Game and Watch is one of the more obsecure Zelda games. It has dual screens (similar to the Nintendo DS), the bottom screen used for normal battles, and the top screen to show inventory, as well as the map, and to show the upper part of the boss. It follows the storyline of the original Legend of Zelda, where you must fight through eight dungeons and obtain the eight shards of the Triforce of Wisdom.

The boss of each dungeon is a dragon that has two attacks: slashing you with its tail, or breathing fireballs on you. You can dodge the fireballs and slash the tail after it tries to slash you. This is the only part of the game in which you can use the Tomahawk.

Items are obtained from defeating Moblins. They will drop the item once they are defeated. The different items are as follows: Heart: This classic Legend of Zelda item allows you to recover one heart. Water of life: This fills your healh up to five hearts, allowing you to shoot beams from your sword. It is used by pressing down. Map: This item allows you to see the layout of the dungeon. Tomahawk: This weapon is only used in boss battles. It is automatically equipped when you enter one, and works the same way as the sword. Its' only difference is that it does more damage.

The controls are as follows: Left/Right: Move in the direction of the button you press. Up: Go up a staircase. Down: Use the "Water of Life", which fills your hearts up to five hearts. Attack: This button allows you to attack with whatever weapon you are using.
