Sahasrahla told Link to seek out the three [[Pendants of Virtue]] in order to discover the [[Master Sword]] hidden deep within the Lost Woods. Link found these pendants in the [[Eastern Palace (A Link to the Past)|Eastern Palace]], [[Desert Palace|Desert Palace]], and [[Tower of Hera (A Link to the Past)|Tower of Hera]]. Once he had obtained the legendary blade, however, Agahnim's forces attacked the Sanctuary and kidnapped Zelda. Once trapped in the Dark World, Link could use the [[Magic Mirror]] to travel back and forth between worlds and rescue the maidens who were trapped in the Dark World palaces.
