Ref
Lantern Oil is used to fuel the Lantern; yellow Chu Jelly has the same effect. Both Lantern Oil and Yellow Chu jelly can be stored in a Empty Bottle.  To put Lantern Oil/ Yellow Chu Jelly in the Lantern, equip the bottle of Lantern Oil/Yellow Chu Jelly to one of the D pads.  Afterwards, take out the Lantern, and press the D pad in which the bottle of oil/Yellow Chu Jelly was equipted to.  Link should then pour the oil/Yellow Chu Jelly into his Lantern, which will fill it up.

Lantern Oil can be purchased at several shops, as well as being found in a few dungeons like Arbiter's Grounds.
