Taurus (Torosu) are moblin-like soldiers with horned heads found in the Dark World in A Link to the Past. They have white eyes and wear either blue or red armors, which allow them to block Link's attacks from the front.

The blue ones are the most common and are found spread all over the Dark World. Red ones are only found inside Ganon's Tower, except for one found near the Village of Outcasts, and wield pitchforks.

Taurus behave in a similar manner to Moblins from the Dark World and to soldiers from the Light World. Thus, Taurus and Moblins may be the Dark World equivalent of soldiers, as they appear where soldiers and archers are in the Light World.

Non-canon Appearances

A Link to the Past comic

In A Link to the Past comic, a Taurus is first briefly seen when Link enters the Palace of Darkness. Another Taurus later appears while Link is in the Swamp Palace, where it attacks him from behind along with a Hinox. The foes then shut the entrance to the rest of the palace and impede Link from rescuing the Maiden inside. As Sahasrahla's friend watches the battle between Link and the Taurus from a fountain in the Light World, the boy accidentally activates the statues that cause water to pour into the fountain. This leads to the Swamp Palace in the Dark World to get flooded, washing away both the Taurus and the Hinox, who eventually end up sinking as they struggle with each other.[1]
