{{Term/Store|Scaldera||Series, SS, SSHD}} is a {{Term|SSHD|Boss|link}} in {{SS}}.<ref name="E 201"/><ref>{{Cite|{{Color|SSHD White|Pyroclastic Fiend<br/>{{Big|Scaldera}}}}|N/A|SSHD}}</ref> It appears to be a large, six legged insect-like creature, hosting a molten body with a single eyeball. To protect its weak inner layer, {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} hosts an armor-like outer layer of rock.

As {{Term|SSHD|Link|link}} enters the final room and proceeds to its sloped bridge, he encounters {{Term|SSHD|Ghirahim|link}} inside, who explains his intentions to {{Term|SSHD|Link}}. As a means to release his anger for losing {{Term|SSHD|Princess Zelda|link}}, he attempts to crush {{Term|SSHD|Link}} with a large boulder, which then emerges into {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} and engages {{Term|SSHD|Link}} in battle.
As the battle begins, {{Term|SSHD|Link}} must run across the sloped bridge as {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} gives chase. {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} will shoot large {{Plural|SSHD|Fireball|link}} at {{Term|SSHD|Link}}, which he can avoid by moving to the side. He can also restock on {{Plural|SSHD|Bomb|link}} there. {{Term|SSHD|Link}} must throw a {{Term|SSHD|Bomb}} at {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} to damage it, which will cause it to roll back down the bridge. As {{Term|SSHD|Link}} approaches it, {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} will get up and begin inhaling to unleash a {{Term|SSHD|Fireball}}. {{Term|SSHD|Link}} needs to throw or roll another {{Term|SSHD|Bomb}} into its gaping mouth, which will explode inside {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} and break away some of its rocky exterior. It will then fall to the the ground and its eye will be exposed, which was originally concealed by the aforementioned exterior. {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} will be momentarily stunned at this point, allowing {{Term|SSHD|Link}} the opportunity to strike its eye. {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} will shortly get up and ignite itself on {{Term|SSHD|Fire|link}}, preventing {{Term|SSHD|Link}}'s attacks as it chases him up the slope again. {{Term|SSHD|Link}} must simply throw another {{Term|SSHD|Bomb}} to force it back down, followed by another {{Term|SSHD|Bomb}} into its gaping mouth, to extinguish the flames and continue his attack on the eye once more. It is also possible to attack while {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} is chasing him, provided that it is not currently on {{Term|SSHD|Fire}}, but this requires excellent timing. Successfully landing an attack on {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}}'s eye while it moves will stun it the same way that feeding it a {{Term|SSHD|Bomb}} does.
As {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} receives more damage, its strategy will gradually change. Its eye will eventually start to move as it tries to avoid {{Term|SSHD|Link}}'s attacks. Eventually, {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} will change its entire strategy as it climbs to the very end of the bridge and then curls into a boulder as it rolls down at {{Term|SSHD|Link}}. This can be avoided by moving to the side just as {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} passes. {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}}'s {{Plural|SSHD|Fireball}} will also begin curving toward {{Term|SSHD|Link}}.
After destroying its full armor of rock and inflicting enough damage to its eye, {{Term|SSHD|Scaldera}} will be defeated.
