Later on, [[Link]] follows Veran into Labrynna's past with the aid of the [[Harp of Ages]] and solves the mystery of Veran's goal. Link begins a quest in secret to find the eight [[Essences of Time]] that could enable him to penetrate Veran's magic and defeat her. Over the course of his quest, the tower continued to rise toward the heavens,<ref>{{cite|The Black Tower is growing! I have a very bad feeling...|[[Maku Tree]]|OOA}}</ref> After completing the final dungeon, the young hero gets informed that Queen Ambi has left her palace temporarily to inspect the tower's construction. Link takes this opportunity and enters Ambi's Palace and is able to use [[Mystery Seed]]s to eject Veran from Nayru's body. At this moment, Queen Ambi returns to the palace and inadvertently becomes Veran's new host,<ref>{{cite|Are you truly Nayru?
