Crabs are minor enemies in many Zelda games.
Oracle of Ages
Crabs are found on Crescent Island, in the Southeast Corner of Labrynna. They are easily defeated, and are attracted to the Scent Seed.
The Windwaker
In this game, they are small, helpless creatures that are found near the water at islands across the Great Sea, usually on sand but sometimes grass. They disappear into the sand (but always come back up) if anyone gets too close. They don't serve any purpose in the game. They are black and purple, and are the only 2-D objects in the whole game. To make them go away, Link just has to get near them and they will bury themselves, harming no one in the process.
