The Check user permission is one granted to a user that provides access to check the IP address(es) of any user on the wiki. This permission is most useful in determining whether an account is a duplicate, created from the same IP; the practice of creating duplicate accounts is prohibited at Zelda Wiki and at many other wikis across the net.
At Zelda Wiki, the Check user permission is packaged into the administrator and bureaucrat position.
