Dive Ceremony
The Dive Ceremony is a Mini-Game in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
Dive Ceremonies are ancient rites of passage for young Zonai to prove their courage and maturity.[2] Due to the disappearance of the Zonai, the Dive Ceremonies have not been performed for a long time.[3] They are officiated by Steward Constructs on three Sky Islands: Bravery Island in the Great Hyrule Forest Sky, Courage Island in the Hyrule Ridge Sky, and Valor Island in the Lanayru Great Spring Sky. Before Link is allowed to participate in the Dive Ceremonies, he is required to undergo a practice run without a time limit.[4] When Link completes the practice runs, Shrines of Light will appear on each Island. Simosiwak Shrine appears on Bravery Island, Taunhiy Shrine appears on Courage Island, and Sihajog Shrine appears on Valor Island.
The cost of entering the Dive Ceremonies is a single Zonai Charge per attempt.[5] According the to Steward Construct on Courage Island, this was customary as an offering for the trial and helps to replenish the low supply of Zonai Charges.[6]
Gameplay and Rules
The Dive Ceremony is started by activating the Terminal at the top of the Sky Island, which causes rings of light to appear in the hollow center of the Island. Link must Skydive through the rings to the pool at the bottom of the Sky Island in 35 seconds or less.[2][7]
Rewards
By completing the Ceremony in the time limit, Link will be rewarded with a piece of Armor from the Glide Set.[8][9] If Link beats the Sky Island's respective record, he will be rewarded with a Large Zonai Charge and be registered as the new record holder as well.[10][11][12]
