The Fortune Tellers are not the Fates since they call themselves "fortune tellers" in the game, and the fates are just an ambiguous higher power that oversee Hyrule. Template:Character The Fates are mentioned characters in Cadence of Hyrule.

Biography

The Fates are hailed as deities who watch over the residents of Hyrule[1], and are responsible for the fate of everyone in it. While the Fortune-Tellers can foresee into the future and someone's destiny, changing it is considered difficult[2] if not impossible.

If a hero is defeated prematurely in battle, instead of dying, they are sent to a place where adventurers with "unfinished business" end up, where they may restock on weapons and continue on with their quest[3].
