Bongo Bongo Relations

- No, however, there is quite the resemblance between the two. And considering Majora's Mask has a thing for mirroring/paralleling characters from Ocarina of Time, it is pretty clear that Bongo Bongo at least served some inspiration in the creation of Gabora, even if it was purely aesthetic. — ciprianotalk 03:09, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- I dunno, this seems like a massive stretch to me. Just looking at official art of the two side-by-side expresses a huge amount of difference. All they have in common is muscularity and a grotesqueness (Bongo Bongo being far less pleasant to look at) about them.. The skin tones aren't that alike, with Gabora's in-game skin being much paler and less purple than Bongo Bongo's, and in the official artwork Bongo Bongo is also much darker in comparison and a much deeper, more deliberate shade of purple rather than the gray used for Gabora - so the skin is different in both of those realms. Other points: Gabora wearing gloves and a mask is hardly 'similar' to Bongo Bongo having no head and severed hands. That could warrant a number of explanations. Also, Bongo Bongo is an upper body connected to a bulb-looking stalk that floats above it in the air, as opposed to a complete body standing on two feet. - Well the thing about this is, if it's a popular theory, it must stay on the page. I'm indifferent to the theory itself, as I don't truly care. However, we must look for documentation on a forum or some other medium in which this theory is supported or denied before we do anything with this theory. This is standard protocol for theories, in adding and removing from pages. I'll see if I can get this discussion jump started on the ZeldaInformer forums, but until we see some verdict in an aspect of the community, I say we leave it as is for the time being. — ciprianotalk 05:48, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

- From the forum responses so far, we are seeing a lively opposition to this theory. - While there are only few forum posts to this topic, only one of them actually seems to deem it as legitimate. The others either "don't see the similarities" or dont' give this theory merit, which are both opposition arguments. I'd like to get more opinions though, so I'll bump it. — ciprianotalk 15:16, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

- I actually had an interesting thought; as many have shared the theory that Bongo Bongo was once the guy who made the Lens of Truth, or some theory like that, it occurred to me that maybe Gabora if the Termina equivalent of that guy. Which is why I'd like to support this theory, because I like the idea of the OoT bosses being found in various ways in Termina. --Oboromaru 01:37, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
