This area cannot be accessed by Link at first, as the only known entranced is blocked off by Guards.  However, the player can learn from residents of Lynna that Nayru (who, unknown to them, is possessed by Veran) is searching for Mystery Seeds.  By acquiring the requested items in Deku Forest and returning to the Palace, Link can gain temporary access to the interior and meet Nayru and Ambi face-to-face.  In exchange for the seeds, Link receives ten Bombs.  The entire scene is rigged so the player cannot explore the depths of the Palace.

After Octogon is defeated in the sixth dungeon, Mermaid's Cave, Queen Ambi will leave her palace.  The guards will now loosen up their iron grip on the castle slightly, allowing Link to stealthily sneak into the front garden and access a secret entrance to the structure's interior, much like how Link did so in the Hyrule Castle of A Link to the Past.  Once inside, Link will have to sneak past the guards--who will attack him on sight--until he reaches Nayru's room, where a boss battle ensues with the one known as Possessed Nayru.  In this battle, Veran's only weakness is Mystery Seeds, explaining why she wanted to confiscate as many as possible earlier in the game.

Once Link frees the Oracle of Ages from Veran's clutches, Nayru will escape with both him and Ralph to the present.  Upon arriving through time, she will teach Link the Tune of Ages, the final song that can be played on the Harp of Ages.  With her original body gone, Veran decides to possess Queen Ambi herself, a possession which will last until the final boss battle against Veran in Black Tower.  For the remainder of the game, Ambi's Palace will be inaccessible.
