Aruroda

Aruroda are one-eyed scorpion-like foes in Template:AoL.

Characteristics and Weaknesses

Aruroda usually keeps their eyes closed, and often charge directly at Link, casting fireballs from their tails. Theses fireballs are normally unblockable and require that Link use the Reflect magic. They can only be harmed by striking them when their single large eye is open, much like a Gohma.

Trivia

  • "Rōdā" is the Japanese name for Lowder, suggesting a link between the two monsters. However, the katakana for "Lowder", Template:Japanese, is slightly different from Aruroda's spelling, Template:Japanese. The absence of the chōonpu is not unusual, however: Leever, for example, has been listed as both Template:Japanese and Template:Japanese in different games.
  • These enemies have elsewhere been given the unofficial name {{{2}}}.[1]
  • The Aruroda greatly resemble the Aracha from Skyward Sword. Their behavior and weakness during battle is also very similar to the elder Aracha, Moldarach, particularly when it loses its claws.
  • Artwork from the Futashiba Guide, which was not created by Nintendo, depicts them with claws that the creature does not have.
