In {{TWW}}, he runs the {{Term|TWWHD|Nintendo Gallery|link}} near the [[Forest Haven]]. If {{Term|TWWHD|Link|link}} has obtained the [[Picto Box#Deluxe Picto Box|Deluxe Pictobox]], he may then take color photographs which he may present to {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}} for him to make a figurine from the photograph. For {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}} to make a figurine from a picture, it must meet certain requisites:

*The subject is in the center of the photograph

*The subject is facing {{Term|TWWHD|Link}} when the photograph is taken. 

If these requirements are met, {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}} will ask {{Term|TWWHD|Link}} to wait an entire day, in which that time he will spend making a figurine out of the subject in the photograph.

{{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}} will even carve a figurine of himself if a photograph is taken of him, although he does not quite recognize his own face; however, he does believe the person in the photo is exceptionally handsome. According to {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}}'s figurine, it is rumored that the reason he does not let anyone watch him carve is because he does so in his underwear.

In {{TWWHD}}, he will work on a maximum of 12 figurines at once as opposed to the previous limit of a single figurine at a time. The Picto Box is also equipped with a new feature that will place a golden {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}} icon on photos that meet {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}}'s requirements to be turned into a figurine. Thus {{Term|TWWHD|Link}} does not have to return to the Nintendo Gallery to receive {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}}'s approval.

Once the Nintendo Gallery is completed, {{Term|TWWHD|Carlov}} leaves to find inspiration elsewhere, leaving {{Term|TWWHD|Link}} as the gallery's new master.

In {{TMC}}, {{Term|TMC|Carlov}} operates a {{Term|TMC|Figurine Gallery|link}}, and also has a younger brother named {{Term|TMC|Borlov|link}}. He rewards {{Term|TMC|Link}} with a [[Carlov Medal|golden medal]] of his own face for collecting all 136 figurines.
