Masks

I hope this isn't unwanted. As there are so many masks, I am giving them a subcategory. However, I am also keeping them here. Oh, and I made the Skull Mask article.

hero's shield

we have two different pages for this item. should we just combine it into one page? I mean we don't have a different page for every hookshot ocarina in each game, so we might as well combine it like those pages.

Subcategories

I think there needs to be a few subcategories for swords, ranged weapons, masks, instruments and shields. Just so it's easier to navigate this page. --Dinoshaur 03:34, 22 December 2006 (CST)

Great Fairy's Sword

The Great Fairy's Sword is one of the longest and sharpest blades Link has ever used in battle. In Termina, the Great Fairies rewarded Link with this magical weapon when he was able to return the many Stray Fairies scattered throughout the land.

Information everywhere

I know it will lower your page count but don't you think it would be more user friendly if you kept certain items all together on one page instead of everywhere in their own small seperate pages? Take the Hookshot page as an example of what I am suggesting. This can be applied to Boomerangs, shields, minor swords (Master Sword and Four Sword can have their own page since they appear in multiple games and have enough info to hold a page.), Health potions, magic jars, Slingshot, etc. --Knil 19:58, 24 August 2007 (PDT)

I think this is essentially a good idea. In fact, before becoming a featured article, Boomerang was merged from several into one.

• In that vein, I'd say all of the Hookshot type articles should be merged into one (with the individual names redirecting to the relevant section), same with Slingshot.
• Personally, I'd rather see all the sword and shield articles remain separate, since each sword is unique (and all appear in Category:Swords); although possibly some of the more minor shields could be merged?
• I wouldn't merge any health potion articles, as they are all in Category:Health Restoring Items, and magic jar just needs to be expanded to include all games it appears in (only describing the found-in-jar, pickup type item, not the inventory one), and not everything in Category:Magic Restoring Items.

New subcategories?

On the Bottle talk page, Guy was asking to create a new category for 'bottle items'. I agree, he can do it tho. And for a bigger categorizing project I was thinking to group the items that only have a use in trading sequences. thoughts?Axiomist 21:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Sounds good. Wouldn't necessarily have to be for items which are used solely in trade sequences tho. Since it would be in addition to the item category, not a replacement, it should be used on every item which plays a part in any of the trade sequences. --Adam 21:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

No, don't remove them from the items page (which means don't delete the [[Category:Items]] tag from the pages), and I wouldn't say it's appropriate to include the trade sequence rewards (maybe these should have their own category?) As an example, the appropriate action would be to add [[Category:Trade Sequence Items]] to every item here, except for Biggoron's Sword. --Adam 21:28, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
