The {{Term|BotW|Etsu Korima Shrine}} is located on the {{Term|BotW|Great Plateau|link}} atop {{Term|BotW|Mount Hylia|link}}. It appears as part of the "{{Term|BotW|EX The Champions' Ballad|link}}" {{Term|BotW|Main Quest|link}}. To access the {{Term|BotW|Ancient Shrine|link}}, {{Term|BotW|Link|link}} must defeat the various {{Plural|BotW|Enemy|link}} that appear on {{Term|BotW|Mount Hylia}} during the trial. After the last {{Term|BotW|Enemy}} is defeated, the {{Term|BotW|Ancient Shrine|display=Shrine}} will rise up from beneath the ground. {{Term|BotW|Etsu Korima Shrine}} is dark, forcing {{Term|BotW|Link}} to follow light sources such as {{Plural|BotW|Torchlight|link}} or the glowing walls to find his way through. Through a small corridor from the entrance is a large chamber with seven lasers. The first three are stationary lasers firing vertically from the ceiling, the next three are also stationary but are firing horizontally across the walkway at roughly the same level as Link's eyes when he is standing. The final laser is firing horizontally across the walkway but is on a platform moving up and down.

The next chamber has a large number of {{Plural|BotW|Torchlight}} scattered around four large rotating cylindrical columns, each column two or three walls covered with spikes attached to them. The third chamber has three sets of small openings, each with four nozzles that spew out jets of fire lining the opening. The jets can be safely passed through with the {{Term|BotW|Fireproof Armor|link}} or by carefully crossing over one of the nozzles while it is off. Down a small flight of stairs, three {{Plural|BotW|Guardian Scout I|link}} lie in wait, two of which hide behind nearby walls.

At the end of the chamber with {{Plural|BotW|Guardian Scout|link}} is a large staircase leading up to the {{Term|BotW|Monk}} {{Term|BotW|Etsu Korima}}. As {{Term|BotW|Link}} ascends the staircase, {{Term|BotW|Etsu Korima Shrine}} will light up. However, the darkness will return if {{Term|BotW|Link}} turns back. Upon approaching {{Term|BotW|Etsu Korima}}, the {{Term|BotW|Monk}} will give {{Term|BotW|Link}} a {{Term|BotW|Spirit Orb|link}} for completing the trial.<ref>{{Cite|{{Color|BotW Monk Blue|Your resourcefulness in overcoming this trial speaks to the promise of a hero... A metallic {{Term|BotW|Treasure Chest|link}} containing a {{Term|BotW|Gold Rupee|link}} can be found on a small wooden platform above some vine in the area with the rotating spike walls.
