Lanayru Gorge

Lanayru Gorge is an area in Skyward Sword located in Lanayru Desert. Lanayru Gorge is home to Lanayru the Thunder Dragon and the minigame Boss Blitz. Like every area of Lanayru Desert it is a barren wasteland in the present, but in the past it is full of life. Lanayru Gorge involves moving Timeshift Stones inside a minecart a large distance.

Appearance and Features

Lanayru Gorge, is one of the three areas that Link is required to visit in order to learn parts of the Song of the Hero. It becomes open after Golo the Goron Miner, finally completes his mining expedition, which has the effect of opening a entrance to the gorge. Link manages to find the location of the Thunder Dragon, but in the present the Thunder Dragon is dead. Leaving behing only his skeletal remains. After activating a Timeshift Stone by moving a minecart through many trials, Lanayru Gorge bursts to life. The Lanayru Dragon appears but is seriously ill. The Ancient Robots, are trying to heal his sickness with a fruit from the Tree of Life. Despite, all fo their efforts to make the tree grow, it just won't grow. Signifying the beginning of the decay of Lanayru Desert. Link manages to find a more suitable location in the Sealed Grounds for the Tree of Life to grow. Link is now able to bring the fruit to Lanayru and cures his sickness. Lanayru teaches the hero the Final Part of the Song of The Hero, and eventually opens up a minigame called the Boss Blitz. Lanayru Gorge, looks like every real-life gorge you would expect to see. In the past its a green landscape bursting with actiby, but in the Present its a barren wasteland occupied by monsters.
