Malon and her father Talon both operate [[Lon Lon Ranch]] east of [[Hyrule Town]] in {{TMC}}. When [[Link]] first encounters them, they are locked out of their house. Link can help them by shrinking to [[Minish Link|Minish form]] and going into their house to find the [[Spare Key]], which is inside a [[Pot]].<ref>{{Cite|I lost my key, and I can't get inside. Malon is not seen again until part two of {{OoT|-}} manga. An adult Malon has become a prisoner of [[Ingo]], who was brainwashed by [[Twinrova]] to lure Link in order to defeat him. In an {{OoT|-}} developer's interview posted on {{wp|Shigesato Itoi}}'s website, 1101.com, script writer Toru Osawa said that Talon and Malon from {{OoT|-}} are based on [[Tarin]] and [[Marin]] from {{LA}}, and it is intended that players who have played the previous game will recognize the reference.<ref>{{Cite person|quote= A father and daughter named Marin and Tarin that were introduced in Link's Awakening for GameBoy also appeared in this Zelda game.
