The is a recurring Series in Series. It is an upgrade to the Series preceding the Series and is the second strongest Series in both - and ALBW. The Series goes unnamed in AST.
Location and Uses
-
ALttP can obtain the ALttP by taking the ALttP trapped in the ALttP back to his brother in the ALttP to the ALttP east of ALttP. As a token of gratitude, the brothers will upgrade the young hero's ALttP. However, the forging process takes time and ALttP is forced to leave his ALttP with them and wait. During this time, ALttP can perform the action of swinging a blade without one in his possession, but cannot deal damage to enemies this way. ALttP must use items if he wishes to defeat enemies before retrieving the ALttP.
Tempering the ALttP makes it much stronger, gives it a reddish-orange glow, and causes it to make a deeper swing sound as opposed to the usual slash sound. It is twice as strong as the ALttP (making the ALttP four times as strong as the ALttP), but the ALttP still retains its original power and continues to do so even as the ALttP is upgraded again.

The Tempered Sword, also known as the Master Sword Lv2, is a sword featured in ALTTP, AST, and ALBW. It is an upgraded version of the Master Sword.
-
The ALBW is obtained by bringing two pieces of ALBW to ALBW's ALBW at the ALBW in ALBW. It is three times more powerful than the ALBW, and its ALBW are 1.5 times more powerful.

Start
The Tempered Sword is the third sword level. Link can obtain it by taking the Dwarven Swordsmith trapped in the Dark World back to his brother in the Light World to the east of Kakariko Village. As a token of gratitude, the brothers will upgrade the young hero's Master Sword. However, the forging process will take time, and Link will be forced to leave his sword with them and wait. During this time, Link can perform the actions of swinging a blade without one in his possession, essentially causing him to punch out at enemies. This, however, will cause no damage to any enemy, so he will have to rely on his other items to fight until he returns for his blade.

The AST is obtainable in a Treasure Chest in AST in AST. Like the previous AST, the player can rent the next level.
End

Tempering the Master Sword makes the sword much stronger, gives it a reddish-orange glow, and causes it to make a deeper swing sound as opposed to the usual slash sound. It is four times stronger than the Fighter's Sword, but the Beam Attack still retains its original power, and continues to do so even as the sword is upgraded again.

Ref
In ALBW, it is called the Master Sword Lv2. It is obtained by bringing two pieces of Master Ore to Hyrule's blacksmith. Unlike its appearance in A Link to the Past, it is only three times as powerful as the starting sword. However, its Sword Beams are 1.5 times as powerful.
