ERROR: No image specified. Please specify an image. Beedle's Shop, regardless of whether it travels by air, as in Spirit Tracks, or floats on the open ocean, as in The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, offers a reward and point system, called a Membership Card, that functions to provide complementary services considering Link remains a loyal, continuous customer. There are different levels of membership Link can attain as incentive to stay buying and selling items to Beedle throughout the entire quest, though all items purchased and sold are replenishable items only, such as Hyoi Pears, Treasures, and Bombs, just to name a few.

Accumulation of Points

Beedle offers Link a Membership with his business that details a reward system for Link if he continues to provide Beedle with consistent patronage. Accepting the Membership offer is free, except in Spirit Tracks, where Beedle charges Link with a down payment of 100 rupees.

In the three titles, Beedle maintains a point count that stems directly from the amount of items purchased in his store, however, each of the games have a different take on how points are actually accumulated: in The Wind Waker, if Link buys one item, he gains one point towards his Membership; in Phantom Hourglass, each item has a different point value based on its price and type of Membership, and lastly, in Spirit Tracks, for every 2 rupees spent, Link gains one point towards the next Membership. As long as Link buys items in Beedle's Shop, he will continue to accumulate points, but after he has obtained the final membership available, the point system will cease, in reaching the limit of attainable services.

Perks of the Membership Card

The purpose of the Membership is to benefit both parties: As Beedle sees an increase in the purchasing of his products, Link gets price discounts, complementary cards, freebie coupons, and even Treasures in return for his valued patronage. Each membership comes with a different perk, and obviously, as the memberships increase in value, so do the value and significance of the extras that come in conjunction with the Memberships.

Types of Memberships

Silver Membership Card

The Silver Membership Card is the first type of membership to be attained after agreeing to Beedle's Membership offer, acquired after Link buys a total of 30 items in The Wind Waker, secures 20 points in Phantom Hourglass, or gets an overall 200 points in Spirit Tracks.

Membership Extras

In The Windwaker, a Complimentary ID is sent through the mail after obtaining the Silver Membership. It has no material use, but presenting it to Beedle leads to a somewhat humorous scene in which he does little more than compliment you on your continued shopping at his store. This may be foreseen by the spelling of the item's name: complimentary refers to compliments, as opposed to the more expected alternative complementary, meaning free. Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks have a Silver Membership that rewards Link with a 10% discount off all purchases he makes at Beedle's Shops. Link also receives a Freebie Card. With this card, Link can have any one item he wants, out of Beedle's store. However, he will not get any points for it and it does not apply to the Masked Beedle's items, in Phantom Hourglass.

Gold Membership Card

The Gold Membership Card is the step above the Silver Membership Card in that Link must purchase at least 60 items from Beedle in The Wind Waker, obtain 50 points in Phantom Hourglass, or amass 500 points in Spirit Tracks. For the record, this is the final Membership Link can obtain in The Wind Waker.

Membership Extras

In The Windwaker, Link receives the Fill-Up Coupon in the mail, which can be taken to Beedle for a total, albeit free, replenishment of Bombs and Arrows whenever he is to visit Beedle's Shop. In Phantom Hourglass, more expensive items are worth more points, making it easier to amass points towards more siginificant memberships. Also, Link receives a 20% price discount on all items in Beedle's Shop Ship. In Spirit Tracks, along with a 20% price discount on purchased items, Beedle will also hand Link the Heart Container that was sitting at the back shelf of his Air Shop.

Platinum Membership Card

The Platinum Membership Card is the rank above the Gold Membership: Link must retain 100 points in Phantom Hourglass, or at least 1000 points in Spirit Tracks.

Membership Extras

In Phantom Hourglass, Platinum Membership Card gives Link a 30% discount off all purchases he makes at Beedle's Shop Ship, with the exception of Masked Beedle. Link also receives a Complimentary Card, which carries the same function as the Complimentary ID from The Wind Waker: Beedle will simply "compliment" and thank Link for his undying patronage. The point values of several of the more expensive items increase as well. Spirit Tracks rewards Link with a 30% discount, however, he is also granted the Quintuple Points Card, a coupon that will instead increase the point ratio from one point per two rupees to five points for every two rupees spent in Beedle's Air Shop.

VIP Membership Card

The VIP Membership Card can only be obtained in Phantom Hourglass, after securing 200 points altogether from purchases in Beedle's Shop Ship, and is the final membership attainable in the game. A hefty 40% item price discount is the last reward Link will receive as part of Beedle's Membership Card agreement.

Diamond Membership Card

The Diamond Membership Card can only be obtained in Spirit Tracks, considering that Link can amass a staggering 5000 points through his purchases at Beedle's Air Shop. Besides his massive 50% price discount on all items, he is awarded with a hallowed Regal Ring, a rare treasure worth a total of 2500 rupees, as a thank you for Link's continued patronage of his Air Shop over the course of his quest.
