Nejiron is a strange looking enemy found in Majora's Mask. They hide in the ground around Ikana Road and inside the Stone Tower Temple, emerging to attack travelers by rolling into them. These creatures smell of gunpowder,[1] alluding to their volatile nature, and will explode when hit. Naturally, long-range weapons such as the Bow and Hookshot are best used to deal with the threat of these enemies, although each time one dies, another will emerge from the ground to take its place; the Stone Mask can be used to avoid an encounter with these creatures completely.

While not identical, these creatures bear an uncanny resemblance to Gorons.

Trivia

  • The Japanese word "Neji" means twisted or warped, whereas the suffix, -ron, may refer to a Goron. This may imply that a Nejiron is a twisted version of a Goron. It should be noted that ``goro goro´´ is a Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of a rolling rock (the name of the Goron race originated from that same onomatopoeia).
  • According to Zelda.com, the similarities between they and Gorons are no coincidence, as Nejiron have evolved to mimic the appearance of Gorons in order to fool their prey.[2]
