Nintendo 64 (ニンテンドー64, Nintendō Rokujūyon, NINTENDO64) is a video game console and the first true 64-bit system. It was released in June 1996 and was Nintendo's third system released in North America. Some of the most popular, and the five best selling games of the console are Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye 007, Ocarina of Time and Pokémon Stadium.

The Legend of Zelda games

Planned

  • Ura Zelda
    • Ura Zelda was meant to be an expansion for Ocarina of Time which could be implemented with the Nintendo 64DD. However, the Nintendo 64DD was a commercial failure, so the expansion was reworked into Master Quest for the Nintendo GameCube.

iQue Player

Main article: iQue Player

Template:Sources In an effort to curb piracy in China, a Chinese-exclusive system called the iQue Player was created in 2003. The iQue functioned similarly to the Nintendo 64, but games were distributed digitally. Template:OOT was one of 14 games available for the system. Majora's Mask was also developed for the system, but the port was then canceled. The game's dark undertones and imagery were deemed to violate Chinese censorship laws.
