Piranha Plants are enemies in Link's Awakening.
Characteristics and Weaknesses
Piranha Plants appear in side-scrolling areas alongside Goombas. They are immobile Venus Flytrap-like flowers originated from the Mario series. Like their Mario counterparts, they appear out of pipes at regular intervals and try to eat Link as he passes by. Link can use his Sword to defeat them, or simply use the Roc's Feather to jump over them. Their appearance alongside Goombas in underground areas is a direct reference to several locations in the Mario series.
Their appearance is based on Pirahna Plants from Super Mario Bros. 3.
