Appearing only in Twilight Princess, the Poison Mite is a small creature similar in appearance to a scarab beetle. Found in the Arbiter's Grounds, the Poison Mites crawl over Link in swarms, slowing him down. They can be killed with the spin attack. They also can be kept at bay with the lantern lit, causing them to form a circle around Link. They usually appear near quicksand, in an attempt to drag him down faster. They also appear to be based off of Morths, from The Wind Waker.
Despite their name, they are not poisonous, and they cause no damage to Link.
