In {{ALBW}}, Squirrels reside in the Lost Woods, near the Pedestal of Time. They run away when Link moves close to them. In the ending, Squirrels are seen gathering around [[Gulley]] in the [[Haunted Grove]].

In the {{OoA|Himekawa}}, Link and [[Impa]] enter a forest in search of the Oracle of Ages, [[Nayru]]. They are stopped by the forest animals, including a Squirrel, that them to go back.<ref>{{Cite Book|quote= Go back. Go back. After Veran uses Nayru to travel to Labrynna's past, the Squirrel watches as Link picks up the [[Harp of Ages]] and talks to [[Ralph]].
