The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures is a GameCube game stylistically similar to A Link to the Past that accomodates up to four players. All players use a Game Boy Advance and a GBA-GCN link cable. The game can be played alone, giving the single player the option of using the aforementioned setup or a GameCube controller. The game has two modes: the Hyrulean Adventure mode and the Shadow Battle mode.

Hyrulean Adventure

One to four players control four Links in a Story mode adventure. If there are two to four players, everyone uses a Game Boy Advance and a GBA-GCN link cable. If there is only one player, they can use a GameCube controller. If there is only a single player, that player controls all four Links and can arrange them into formations using the C-Stick.

Shadow Battle

Two to four players battle in an arena to be the last one standing. Arenas are unlocked by progressing in Hyrulean Adventure mode. Each player needs the GBA-GCN setup.

Story

"Long ago in the inner reaches of Hyrule, an evil wind sorcerer known as Vaati began kidnapping beautiful young maidens, one after another. Nobody could stop Vaati, and the people of Hyrule despaired.

Then, a brave young wanderer carrying a single sword appeared. When the young lad took out his sword, he split into four seperate beings. The legends say that these beings worked as one and defeated Vaati.

The wanderer, united once again, imprisoned Vaati deep in Hyrule and sealed the prison with his own sword. This place became known as the Realm of the Four Sword.

After that, a long time passed...

Then the wind sorcerer Vaati broke out of his prison, and snatched Princess Zelda of Hyrule. Zelda's childhood friend, a young boy named Link, claimed the strange power of the Four Sword, and fought Vaati fiercely. In the end, he succeeded in sealing Vaati away once again.

And so peace was restored to Hyrule. Or so everyone thought..."
