Images uploaded for Oracle of Seasons Trading Sequence

Hi there! I just wanted to ask, since it seemed a little strange to me; I noticed you uploaded some PNG images of the items in th Oracle of Seasons Trading Sequence, but then added some older GIF files to the page instead. As far as I can tell, your images are much better quality (without the white border) and also carry the correct image tags. I was just wondering why you didn't go ahead and replace the GIFs with your new images? User:Adam/sig 06:19, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

If I replaced the other images I would have to use the gif extension, I think, and adding the gif extension adds the white border to image.Kybyrian (T C) 07:30, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No. The white border comes from people being lazy about making the image transparent. It happens in one of two ways. The first: too lazy to clean up the fuzz around the border. so they add the white outline to hide the fuzz. The second: too lazy to properly make the image transparent, so they only remove the background up to a white outline.User:Matt/sig 18:01, April 11, 2009 (UTC)
I directly went into the game and grabbed a sprite and saved it as a gif. It gave me a white border whenever I saved it. When I saved it as a .png it didn't give me a white border. I don't know how to better put it. Kybyrian (T C) 20:34, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That might have been from using a poor quality program to do it with. Something like GIMP won't do that.User:Matt/sig 07:31, April 12, 2009 (UTC)

Using something else would have left a full white border, not an outline, I used GIMP. Kybyrian (T C) 13:39, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
