Images uploaded for Oracle of Seasons Trading Sequence

Hi there! I just wanted to ask, since it seemed a little strange to me; I noticed you uploaded some PNG images of the items in th Oracle of Seasons Trading Sequence, but then added some older GIF files to the page instead. As far as I can tell, your images are much better quality (without the white border) and also carry the correct image tags. I was just wondering why you didn't go ahead and replace the GIFs with your new images? Adam [ talk ] 06:19, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If I replaced the other images I would have to use the gif extension, I think, and adding the gif extension adds the white border to image.Kybyrian (T C) 07:30, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No. The white border comes from people being lazy about making the image transparent. It happens in one of two ways. The first: too lazy to clean up the fuzz around the border. so they add the white outline to hide the fuzz. The second: too lazy to properly make the image transparent, so they only remove the background up to a white outline.Emma (Talk) 18:01, April 11, 2009 (UTC)
I directly went into the game and grabbed a sprite and saved it as a gif. It gave me a white border whenever I saved it. When I saved it as a .png it didn't give me a white border. I don't know how to better put it. Kybyrian (T C) 20:34, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That might have been from using a poor quality program to do it with. Something like GIMP won't do that.Emma (Talk) 07:31, April 12, 2009 (UTC)

Using something else would have left a full white border, not an outline, I used GIMP. Kybyrian (T C) 13:39, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Umm, looking at the page, Kybyrian uploaded the PNG images, then edited the file, but included the gif images on accident. (Defeated the purpose of uploading the PNG's if he was going to link to the gifs.) Seemed like an honest mistake, that's what Adam's original comment was. Asking why Kybyrian uploaded pngs, and linked to the old gifs. Just seems to be miscommunication here. Kybyrian since fixed the page and linked to the pngs instead of the gif images.
The sprites that were captured, were made transparent, saved in PNG format. Doesn't matter if you use paint shop pro, gimp, photoshop, etc... Almost any quality image program can make a transparent PNG image. They can also making transparent gif's, but some programs, you do it different for GIF and PNG. So Kybyrian, when making the PNG's transparent, I assume if he made them GIFs in the same way, he might have that white background. That being said, he never even uploaded gif's, those were pre-uploaded images which I believe to be linked to on accident. Mases 04:22, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey

This is completely unacceptable. And you should know better than that. Don't do it again.User:Justin ZW/sig 19:43, 17 September 2010 (EDT)

I was going to revert it but it wouldn't let me because Durion had just made an edit. By the way, Durion's edit was actually relevant. It should not have been undone. Kybyrian (T C) 19:44, 17 September 2010 (EDT)

Block

You have been blocked due to intimidating behavior and harassment for three (3) days compliments of this edit. Regardless if you were going to revert it or not, you still did it. Consider venting your anger via a private message or such, instead of in a place where other people can see it. Mandi Talk 04:19, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Ah... I assure you in no way was anger involved. You can bet it won't happen again, however. I'll get Durion to make my edits for me. Sorry about that. :) Kybyrian (T C) 00:45, 18 September 2010 (EDT)
