To Do's

  • We need people stating where they got their images from. You MUST supply the source of an image if it is not taken from one of the seven websites that own the wiki. Please see the list of Image Templates that you can add to an image's article page to attribute source and copyright information and begin adding these to all images.
  • Quite a few articles, i.e. most articles, do not have enough or any sources. This is quickly becoming unacceptable. We encourage members to locate and add sources to these articles. A list of articles in need of sources can be found at: Articles lacking sources. That list is by no means complete. There are countless other articles that need sources.

Pieces of Heart are helpful in the Zelda universe, and they're helpful at Zelda Wiki.org. This week's Piece of Heart: Rules for the new image templates!

Every new image uploaded must be correctly attributed to its creator/editor/redistributor. There are four possible options when doing this, and a template for each:

  1. FoundImageZW - Applies to images taken from one of the sites connected to ZW.org.
  2. FoundImage - Applies to images taken from any other website.
  3. ImageSelf - Applies to images scanned/captured/photographed/drawn/photo-edited by yourself (in other words, "your own work", copyrights notwithstanding.)
  4. Imagenosource - Applies to images whose source is uncertain, unknown or currently undeterminable.

To correctly attribute your image, simply go to the image's page after upload, and add one of the above as appropriate, in the format {{ name exactly as listed above }}

In addition, should the image depict any characters or elements of Zelda games, or other Nintendo games (including, but not limited to, all screenshots, artwork [official or otherwise] and symbols), you must also display the template c-nintendo. —Adam (talk) 20:51, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Community Announcements

  • Zelda Wiki.org was mentioned in The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy! Don't believe us? Check page xiii: "Want to know anything about the Zelda franchise, anything at all? Just look it up on zeldawiki.org - an online Zelda encyclopedia."
  • The help guide has been completely re-done and is now much more informative. Remember, it's a constant work-in-progress, so things will always be changing, and feel free to make suggestions.
  • Zelda Universe has introduced a new Zelda Wiki.org Contributor Banner to signify that a Zelda Universe member also contributes here. So if you've made over 1000 edits (check this page to confirm your edit count), contact Matt on both Zelda Universe and here with your username on the sites, and once he's confirmed it's you, you will have the banner added to your Zelda Universe account!
  • We're currently experiencing technical difficulties with the "&" symbol in article and image names. So for the time being, please do not add any articles or images with "&" in the name, or it won't show up correctly. For a more in-depth explanation, see the discussion here.
  • We're currently having trouble with references displaying properly in articles. This has no effect on logged-in users. But visitors to Zelda Wiki.org are not able to see any of the references. We are currently trying to solve this problem.

Various members are now trying to merge several Super Smash Bros. Brawl articles together, such as all of the Assist Trophies into one article, and all of the enemies into their own article, along with a couple of other ideas. Check out the discussion thus far and see what you can do to help! And remember, if there's a picture on the page you're merging, be sure to bring it to the new, merged article.

For an example of this being done already, check out Characters in Super Smash Bros. (Series).
