A relative of an [[Octorok]], this enemy is nearly identical to it's cousin save for it's color and size, being around three times as large. This enemy does not really attack in most games, instead, it acts as an obstacle. [[Link]] had a few ways to defeat this behemoth. In [[Link's Awakening]], these could only be knocked into pits for them to be vanquished. In [[A Link to the Past]], there were two varieties: The blue octogons took three hits to kill with [[Link's Uncle]]'s sword. The red variety took many hits before falling by the same sword. The blue kind also appeared in [[Four Swords Adventure]]s, where [[Link]] could either knock them into pits to kill them, stun them with the [[Boomerang]] and slash them several times, or use the [[Roc's Feather]] to jump over them and come down on them with his sword. In [[Oracle of Ages]], it acts as the [[Boss]] of the [[Mermaid's Cave]]. It is unexplained why this creature lacks the ability to spit rocks like it's relative, but the Octogon may explain the origin of the [[Big Octo]], who ultimately took the Octogon's place in later games, such as [[Ocarina of Time]], where it plays as a [[Mini-boss]] of the Dungeon:"[[Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly]]."
