It is different for each person, to a point. Some people say that it is the order that you catch the boys. But it really is chosen at random. Since there are five numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, & 5), and the secret code is five numbers long, and that each number is only used once, we can figure out how many possible secret code there are. First number there are five choices, second number there are four, third there are three, etc. So the possible number of secret codes is: 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 120. So there are 120 possible secret codes. You might have the same code as someone else, or you might not.Emma ^(Talk) 15:03, July 6, 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, the code will stay the same throughout one file, but if you start a new file (either on a different cartridge or deleting the old file and starting a new file there) the code will likely be different (unless you just happen to get that 1-in-120 chance of getting the same code). —Ando (talk) 15:37, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I think I found proof that it is the order that you catch the boys that determines the code, I just attempted to get the code 12345 and succeed, and since there is 120 possibly codes that means I either got very lucky or it is the order that you catch them in that matters. Basically each bomber has a different number on the back of their shirt, I collected the one which had 1 on the back first, then the one that had 2 on the back second, and so on and so forth. If any reason people think it's random it would suggest that with each new files the numbers on their backs are randomised and if you collect them in the same order (as opposed to same number) the code will be different. I'll make another new file later and purposely aim for a certain number as the code to confirm it. The Light6 07:00, 29 October 2010 (EDT)
