Speculation

The phrase "considers [shields] a delicacy" is used at least twice here, but does that actually have any backing? The fact Like Likes eat shields and tunics doesn't mean they find them especially tasty, or that they even "consider" them to be anything for that matter, seeing as there's nothing to suggest they're in any way intelligent. Is this just speculation, or what? Jimbo Jambo (talk) 05:10, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I wanna say I remember that line ingame, but I'm not certain. But you are right, it's redundant to have it in two consecutive paragraphs. Axiomist (talk) 05:23, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, it's in the game. And it SHOULD only be mentioned once...I'll fix it if it's still there... .nope, not there. Oh well. ~Moshata, The Mistress~ (talk) 17:27, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Which game? Can you get a quote? Jimbo Jambo (talk) 17:57, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's in Ocarina of Time, and I belive somone in Hyrule Castle Town (before becoming an adult) tells you. ~Moshata, The Mistress~ (talk) 00:35, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
All I remember is some guy in the Bazaar says something like "I heard there's a monster out there that eats Hylian Shields! Do you think it could be true?" Jimbo Jambo (talk) 01:10, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Here is a few:
"Like Like
An enemy that eats shields and certain clothes. Beat it quickly to get your gear back!
" — Navi (Ocarina of Time)
"I heard a rumor that there is a monster that eats Hylian Shields somewhere out there in the world. Have you ever seen it?" — Guy in the Bazaar (Ocarina of Time)
That's it. Emma (Talk) 04:19, February 6, 2009 (UTC)
Okay, so it never says anything about them considering shields delicacies in OoT. Unless we can find something from somewhere else that supports that claim, should we remove it from the page? Jimbo Jambo (talk) 20:36, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I forgot to search for this, somewhere I had seen "Like Likes have a soft spot for shields" those words exactly, :s. Axiomist (talk) 00:58, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I know that if Link's Shield is stolen in Spirit Tracks, the message "That monster ate your shield!" shows up after Link gets up from being spat out. Strangely, there is no message that pops up if this happens in Phantom Hourglass. Also, if Link loses his shield in the Minish Cap, the message "Your shield was stolen!" pops up, then he will be spat out when that message is closed. The latter might've been added already, though.
