Merge

I think the Eyesoar and Patra pages need to be merged since they are the same characters (Eyesoar is Patra in japanease). Any objections? Jeangabin 09:17, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'd support this merge. • Pete | 09:30, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sounds good. They are virtually identical aside from the English names, after all. Ganondorfdude11 19:24, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Should we wait more or do the merge now? Jeangabin 22:22, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Wait for a little more support. I'm willing to give mine, because it seems to be that they are the exact same enemy. If/When they are merged, we must take special care to note the name differences in the games.User:Justin ZW/sig 22:30, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Which name for the merge, Patra or Eyesoar? Jeangabin 22:17, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think we should use Eyesoar because it is more recent. -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 22:19, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Jeangabin, you said "Eyesoar is Patra in Japanese", thus giving more credibility to the "Patra" name, as the enemies were not only called "Patra" in one game, but they were referenced as "Patra" in another. I move to merge the two under the name "Patra", and perhaps put the "Eyesoar" name difference in the introduction of the new article. — ciprianotalk 23:28, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'd like to have more opinion on the name before the merge. Jeangabin 20:48, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Let's go! Jeangabin 19:59, 9 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well the Zelda Encyclopedia has confirmed that both monsters are one and the same, with Eyesoar being the current English name and Patra being the Japanese name. --Mysterii bousuguru (talk) 01:47, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's not what is actually being shown in Encyclopedia. It says that in The Legend of Zelda, Eyesoar is known as Patra instead. Since it has a different name, Patra should remain split from Eyesoar per our boss policy. We can still make note that they are the same boss, however. TriforceTony (talk) 18:23, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Huh? If the Encyclopedia says they're the same, then they should be merged with the naming differences noted, like with Skullwalltula/Walltula, Helmasaur/Iron Mask/Hiploop, and ChuChu/Chu. rjd1922 (talk) 21:20, 7 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Bosses are handled separately from enemies. TriforceTony (talk) 21:38, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Baffling policy. Anyway, speaking of names,

Wrong Original Name

The article currently says パトラ "Patora" when it is, in fact, パタラ (Patara) just as it's listed on the "Eyesoar" article (which has no reason to exist). I'd change this myself, but nomenclature seems locked now, and it has also been removed from a lot of pages... Sure wish this wiki was more open to the real names. Anyway, check it out here if you don't believe me https://legendsoflocalization.com/media/the-legend-of-zelda/manuals/ZeldaFDSManual.pdf
