No Red Link

I have a fix to prevent this template from making a red link to nonexistent talk pages.

Replace this:

:NAMESPACE talk:PAGENAMEE}}}|Discuss

With this:

This will make just normal text when the talk page does not exist. This way, we don't have left over talk pages with just the noclog template in it. This template is protected so I can fix it. I've already done this to the delete template.--Emma 00:50, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Alright, I think I've gotten it (you're the resident template expert, so you tell me). I re-wrote the template slightly because having a set of parenthesis with the word "Discuss" in it linking to nothing at all would seem really weird and out of place. --Ando 02:10, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It works correctly. Hmm... Did we just make the noclog template obsolete?--Emma 03:20, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Take a guess at what we forgot to do. We forgot to correctly sort this template in its category! Just change the category link to: --Emma 05:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
How does one person messing up this template warrant protecting it? If we protected everything after a single act of vandalism no one would be able edit much of anything. I suggest we unprotect this template.--Emma 05:21, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Alright, question: What exactly does the "|M" in the category do? I did it anyway (again, you're about 48978 times more knowledgeable about this stuff than I am), but... why did I do it? :P
Also, yeah, back in the day minor vandalism would cause things such as this (pages that weren't articles or that were minor articles like Nintendo 64) to be protected. I'll unprotect it now that the risk of that is much lower. --Ando 12:54, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Adding "|M" sorts the template under the "M" heading in the category.--Emma 15:58, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
? Seriously? I thought that the Wiki software automatically did that. Learn something new every day, I suppose. --Ando 11:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

...I just think it's funny the Merging Template would need to be Merged. =) ZeldaGirl96 14:13, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No that is just the actual template. Because the page is the one for the template, it displays what it looks like. But this template is not up for merging.Emma (Talk) 14:28, July 8, 2008 (UTC)
