Hey there everyone, this is Alexander from Zelda Dungeon, also known as Aroku over at Zelda Universe. I also am Alexander from Ordon Village.
General Rambling/Introduction
Just to give a basic background on who I am, I'm currently 16 years old and I reside in Boston, MA. I am currently going into my junior year of High School, after which I plan to study for a degree in music or English and go one to teach either one of those.
From humbling beginnings....
The first game in the Legend of Zelda series I had played was Ocarina of Time, and it still holds a special place in my heart, if you will, to this day. I remember being a young lad, only about 6, 7, or 8, and my brother had rented a Nintendo 64 and Ocarina of Time. At first, I showed little interest but then as I played the game more and more, I came to enjoy it. I still remember being scared of Ganondorf and running out of the room....those were the days I suppose.
...To a developed fanboy
Soon after having rented a Nintendo 64 and playing Ocarina of Time, my parents had bought myself and my two other brothers a Nintendo 64 along with OoT and Majora's Mask. I didn't care much for Majora's Mask, but I loved Ocarina of Time although I had never finished it (only recently have I beaten the game).
Soon thereafter I had gotten a GameCube and enjoyed Wind Waker quite a bit, that being one of my favorite Zelda Games, if not my favorite of all.
Engaging in the Internetz
I soon got very involved in computers, as my family was quite adept at fixing, building, and let alone operating a computer so it was only natrual that the family "skill" would be based onto the younger of us three brothers: Me. I had no real interest in Zelda websites, let alone any websites for a while. I had made a few friends on a video game forum and went on to play a few 2d Online Games.
Zelda Universe: My first "Cyber Home"
I guess ZU has always held a special place in my heart, as that was my first Legend of Zelda fansite...let alone any other website that I had felt welcomed and accepted on. Of course, as a young kid my grammar, spelling, etc. had lacked quite a bit of work and as such you can see a bit of "Noobishness" in my posts that stil are on my account.
I left ZU for a while after I had joined the Nayru Clan as I had been stricken with bordem and ventured off of the internet for at least a year. When I re-emerged I began visiting new Zelda sites as well as still remaining active on ZU.
Zelda Legacy
Zelda Legacy as the second LoZ fansite I had joined, and I felt quite welcomed there. I was asked to join by two people named Swiftblade and Karashimu whom I had been good friends with from Zelda Genesis. This is also where I got my start as Webmaster, thanks to the kindness of Killswitch.
Setting out on my own
As mentioned above, with the help of Killswitch I was able to launch my first Legend of Zelda fansite: Ancient Hyrule. I had gotten help from several other webmasters too in making this site. It turned out to be pretty popular for a free hosted site with just a subdomain routed to Zelda Legacy. From there, I would move on to run one more Zelda site that would be notable: Hyrule Temple.
Hyrule Temple was not as succesful as the initial site of Ancient Hyrule, but I liked the outcome of it nonetheless. The forums were the only active part of this site, much to my disappointment.
From there, I am where I am now: Roaming around, visiting random Legend of Zelda fansites doing whatever. I may relaunch a Legend of Zelda website in the future, but I am not very sure just yet...we shall see what the future holds.
Ordon Village
Not much to say, except I am the current Webmaster of the Legend of Zelda fansite named Ordon Village alongside Axle the Beast and Swiftblade.
Some unknown facts about me
- I am more potent at speaking French than I am English
- I know how to play several instruments, those being: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Saxophone, Drums, and Clarinet. I am also a vocalist for a band with friends as well as a Guitarist
- I like to write my own music, and actually have
- I am a bit critical when I give critique, but that's not a bad thing most times
- I have an odd way of using sarcasim
- I am, in fact, also an XBOX 360 owner/fanboy
- I DO NOT own a Wii yet, although I would like one
- I strongly dislike Winter time in Massachusetts
