Do we want this page left as it is, or should we make pages linking off to each one? I know enough to do at least the ones for Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening and the Oracle series. Although I've read the Minish Cap, I've never had a chance to play the game... --Yuvorias, 23:25 22 March, 2008 (EST)

If we're going to cover individual characters from manga and comics (Roam, Felicia, Karuna, etc.), we should cover the comics/manga themselves, and make a more organized category that spans both comics and manga.  For that matter, there might as well make categories for Non-Canon People and Non-Canon Places (to be categorized into People and Places, respectively, so non-canon people like Roam aren't categorized alongside canon people like Rauru), instead of just non-canon media. Media seems as though it should just include manga/shows/whatever, with other Non-Canon information in its subcategories. --Douken 15:10, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

:Don't get too exited the manga isn't as good as it sounds (I'm not saying its bad, it's just too short), anyways, you can read them LINK REMOVED FOR COPYRIGHT VIOLATION 22:00, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

:It's all being brought over to America, though. Volume 1 of OoT is out this month, volume 2 in December, Majora's Mask (YES YES YES) in February, and Oracle of Ages in April. No word yet on the others, but I'd imagine that they're soon to follow. 03:37, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

:P.freaking.S. As these come out I'll try buying them and working on their Wiki articles, only one of which actually exists. D: These are Zelda, too! They deserve articles! At least detailing the differences between them and the games (OH MY GOSH I CANNOT WAIT FOR FEBRUARY).

Remember an article where both Eiji  supported the mangas' stories since they fills the holes from the stories that didn't make it in the game. Do you remember? I do, but I couldn't find the article, but I have read it months ago! :/ --Isamisa 23:45, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

:I do vaguely remember that, yes. Doesn't mean much unless an actual quote can be found. Nintendo definitely has publicly supported the manga before, though. 15:03, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

I've found some: Aonuma says this: "But quite honestly, I am delighted that you (Akira) have just managed to fill those gaps with some of the manga adaptation."

:Yeah, Nintendo generally supports the manga, although the little things they add in are still not canon. Definitely worth a mention on the page, though. 19:31, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

OoT 3D Manga
Does anyone know anything about the Ocarina of Time 3D promotional manga?  It was included in the Japanese, Taiwan, and Hong Kong player's guides.  --KingStarscream 15:36, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

:What do you want to know about it? If it helps; the pages, the link and info on the original online release, and the translation, are all here: http://historyofhyrule.com/publications/manga_oot_china/index.html and if anyone wants to add info on any more of the manga to the wiki, there's so much more sitting on my site still. I just hate editing wiki info myself, I suck at it  (Melora (talk) 01:15, 27 August 2013 (UTC))

I want to add ゼルダの伝説外伝 クォークと妖精女王 (Zeruda no Densetsu Gaiden Kuōku to Yōsei Joō) to this article. I've noticed that this Wiki uses unofficial English translations for titles of foreign language books. Do you have a standard for how "Gaiden" should be translated? Would "The Legend of Zelda Side Story: Quark and the Fairy Queen" fit this Wiki's policy, or should "Gaiden" be left in as a loanword (as with Ninja Gaiden and Resident Evil Gaiden)? --Indigopengi (talk) 14:23, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
:To clarify, (as far as titles of published works or songs) we specifically use the official English name equivalents where applicable (- for Triforce of the Gods, etc.). If something such as 妖精女王 can be readily translated into English with little to no alteration to the meaning, we also translate that when necessary. However, in the case of original names that don't have English equivalents (クォーク, リルト, etc.), we will not translate those names and instead leave them as their closes romaji transliteration. "Gaiden" is a hard thing to translate, I think, so your solution of keeping it as it is works. You can see that I've moved the page to reflect these details.
