Zarashi is a character in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Biography

Zarashi is a Sand Seal who lives at the Sand-Seal Rental Shop Southeast Booth in Gerudo Town. It spends its time in the caged yard with its fellow Sand Seals, Sue and Nah.

Like all Sand Seals at the Sand-Seal Rental Shop Southeast Booth, Zarashi was trained by Frelly to move faster and wait for its rider when they dismount.[2] Essa's job is to take care of Zarashi and the other Sand Seals, which involves preparing their meals and cleaning up after them.[3] She enjoys seeing how happy they get when she lays out their Food, noting that they eat it as quickly as possible.[4][5]

Pearle also stops by to watch Zarashi and the rest of the Sand Seals, remarking that they seem to be doing well and that they look cute.[1][6]

Nomenclature

Zarashi's name, alongside Nah and Sue, is derived from スナザラシ (Sunazarashi), the Japanese name for Sand Seals.
