Snurglars are enemies in Spirit Tracks.[1]

Characteristics

Snurglars are a large, red variety of Snurgle that appears only in the Fire Realm. Link must stun three Snurglars to gain access to the Fire Temple, as they each hold a Key needed to unlock the entrance door.[2] As hinted at by Gorons in Goron Village, they are sensitive to loud noises such as the Spirit Train's whistle. However, they are only sensitive to a short noise followed by one long one.[3][4] This will freeze Snurglars in their tracks, allowing Link to attack them with the Cannon. Unlike Snurgles, the Cannon explosion will only knock them unconscious for a moment. Upon coming around, the Snurglars without Keys will follow and home in on the Spirit Train if it is nearby in an attempt to retrieve their Keys. Once all three Keys are secured and the Fire Temple completed, the Snurglars are replaced with Snurgles.

Nomenclature
